Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher frustrated kids can't get COVID-19 jab

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher think it’s ‘weird’ coronavirus vaccines are not available for children under 12 and are frustrated their two kids – aged six and four – can’t get the COVID-19 jab

Mila Kunis, 38, and Ashton Kutcher, 43, are frustrated that their kids can’t be vaccinated against coronavirus.

The couple think it’s ‘weird’ that the jabs are currently only licensed in the US for those aged over 12 and can’t understand why the approval date seemingly keeps getting ‘pushed’ for unknown reasons.

Together, Mila and Ashton share two children – Wyatt and Dimitri – aged six and four, respectively. The actors spoke about protecting their family from COVID-19 in a new interview with People on Wednesday.

Protecting their family: Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis think it’s ‘weird’ the COVID vaccines are currently only licensed in the US for those aged over 12 and wish to vaccinate their two children, People reported on Wednesday

‘That’s what we were talking about. Yeah, it is [weird], because every day you’re like, “I hear it’s going to be approved by X date,” and then it gets pushed and it gets pushed, and you hope that it’s getting pushed for the right reasons and not just because someone wants to put their name on it,’ Mila said.

Ashton added: ‘And who wants to be the parents that give their kid COVID and then gets their kid’s school shut down and keeps kids from being educated because they didn’t get vaccinated because the kid couldn’t get vaccinated?’

‘Even if you are vaccinated you still can get COVID and give it to your kid, and they can still get very sick and get the entire school shut down. Who wants to be that person? Nobody,’ he said.

The Two and a Half Men actor found the early days of the pandemic a ‘scary’ time but he and the Bad Moms actress enjoyed a lot of quality time with their kids and made sure they were open to discussing the health crisis.

‘Even if you are vaccinated you still can get COVID and give it to your kid, and they can still get very sick and get the entire school shut down. Who wants to be that person? Nobody,’ Ashton said.

He said: ‘We actually kind of tried to just celebrate the fact that our kids are young and they still want to hang out with us and we got to be with them all day.

‘I think the whole thing was scary, but we talked about it a lot.

‘Our kids are still pretty young and our son is going to be five and he’s probably known more of life in a mask than not in a mask. So for him and our daughter as well, it’s just a lesson in resilience. For all of us, I think it’s a wake-up call for how fragile we are as humans,’ he added.

Earlier this week Mila Kunis and Ashton made a rare public appearance attending the grand opening of the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC.

‘Our kids are still pretty young and our son is going to be five and he’s probably known more of life in a mask than not in a mask. So for him and our daughter as well, it’s just a lesson in resilience. For all of us, I think it’s a wake-up call for how fragile we are as humans,’ Ashton added.

At the event, Mila said to Entertainment Tonight that they ‘tag team’ parenting and never work at the same time to make sure someone is always with their two children.

Also on Tuesday, Kunis surprised Ellen DeGeneres, 66, when she appeared on her eponymous, long-running talk show as a co-host.

At one point, DeGeneres directly asked her co-host about her controversial statements regarding the hygiene of her children.

Earlier this year, the actress and her husband caused a stir when they appeared on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast and expressed they’re lax about bathing their sons Wyatt and Dimitri, aged six and four, respectively.

The Family Guy voice actress explained, ‘Somehow the conversation derailed into bathing habits and then we started talking about how we all don’t bathe our children very often, and/or ourselves. Like, I shower every day, but I don’t wash my hair every day. I don’t find that to be a necessity.’
