Modern Family’s Nolan Gould shows off impressive body transformation as he credits fitness for giving him a ‘reason to get up and stay motivated’

Nolan Gould unveiled his impressive fitness transformation after embracing a more healthy diet and cutting alcohol amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to navigating coronavirus stay home orders and restrictions in Los Angeles, the 22-year-old actor opened up about his life after Modern Family rolled its closing credits ten months ago after 11 seasons.

‘I spent six months basically on vacation,’ Gould told People after ABC’s hit sitcom ended. ‘But I feel like now it’s time to kind of make a decision on where I want to go with my career, and one of the ways you can do that is by changing my look and my mindset.’

He continued: ‘I’ve been working out an hour and a half everyday with my friend Michael who is a personal trainer. We have a really cool socially-distant setup that has allowed me to get fit while also being safe.’

‘It’s been nice. Especially being unemployed in quarantine, having a reason to get up and stay motivated. It’s been something that’s been very healthy and positive for me in quarantine. It’s really changed my outlook,’ he explained.

Additionally, he’s replaced ‘teenage boy/bachelor’ meals, like eating ‘four pizzas at once’ and drinking soda, with lean protein and vegetables.

‘I’m eating so much healthier, even though there’s less of it,’ he noted. ‘Nourishing the mind, body, all that. And actually, for me the biggest thing was cutting out alcohol, for me that’s actually been very nice.’

The life change has made him feel more ‘clear-headed’ as he takes acting classes and has ‘been doing as much writing as possible.’

He also explained he has been taking these steps in order to seamlessly transition back into ‘hopefully’ working soon.

Outside of the acting world, he has his mind set on eventually climbing big rock walls in Yosemite’ and doing ‘the Pacific Crest Trail which is up the coast of America, Mexico to Canada and back.’

He’s also rediscovered his passion for parkour, which is a military training exercise.

‘I used to do parkour when I was a kid, and really loved it. Except, there became a point where I kind of started to plateau, or I couldn’t really do the next big move, and it actually scared me, and was getting hurt a lot,’ he reflected.

Gould admitted he even dislocated his hip, after he tried to impress a girl while doing parkour.

‘I was done after that, obviously,’ he mused,  while also admitting obsessed with Keanu Reeves movies and would love to do his own stunts someday.
