Monica, 49, raised the issue after news of the lyric removal broke on Monday.

‘uhmm, while we’re at it…. #Partition,’ she tweeted, along with a link to a Variety article reporting on the matter.

The lyric referencing the scandal reads: ‘Now my mascara running, red lipstick smudged/Oh, me so horny, yeah, he want to f**k/He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown.’

Monica previously suggested the lyric be amended in a 2014 Vanity Fair article.

‘Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant “Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,” not “Monica Lewinsky’d,”‘ she wrote.

Beyonce fans did not take too kindly to Monica’s tweet, and took to Twitter to throw shade her way.

One person wrote: ‘While we are back on this subject. Why did you keep the soiled dress and not clean it. And had your Mama safe keep it for you. If I bought my Mama a “soiled” dress to keep… Gurl, God himself wouldn’t be able to save me from her,’ adding a peace sign.

Another said: ‘I think it’s telling how out of all the people who have said s**t about you, you decide to pick a black woman to go after…’

Monica responded back to the user, writing: ‘Seriously?! I appreciate that this may be the first thing I’ve said on this that’s come across your radar, but please consider that. And of all the musicians who’ve done this, she was the one I was the most disappointed by… because I was such a fan.’

Another Beyonce fan tweeted: ‘Okay, how about you un-blow Hillary’s husband, can u do that?’

Uh oh: Beyonce fans did not take too kindly to Monica’s tweet, and took to Twitter to throw shade her way

‘You have zero room to criticize anyone about anything. Your behavior and subsequent abnegation of your gross misconduct set women back centuries. Most of women “get it out the mud” versus on our knees. Maybe be quiet and continue with real self reflection?’ one user said.

Another was shocked at why Monica went after Beyonce when she was being criticized for another lyric.

‘It’s always so depressing to see how empathy goes so far. Why is any of this about you? You see a Black woman being attacked and you think let me pile on further?’

One fan clarified that rappers haven’t used her name as a ‘verb to reference semen,’ explaining that ‘they usually refer to her as a side chick or femme fatale.’

Another asked her if she reached out to Beyonce directly or her team before she saw the criticism the artist was under.

Monica wrote back: ‘No, I haven’t. I did mention it in the first Vanity Fair article I wrote in 2014… Which was the first public thing I’d done in 10 years. But you make an interesting/fair point…’

‘While we’re at it…’: Monica raised the issue on Twitter after news of the lyric removal broke

Monica’s initial tweet came after Beyonce promised to remove an abelist slur from her new Renaissance track Heated following backlash from fans and disability equality charity, Scope.

The singer, 40, a global role model – had the lyrics: Sp**zin’ on that ass, s**z on that ass’ in the song which she collaborated on with Drake.

A statement given to MailOnline on Monday said ‘The word, not used intentionally in a harmful manner, will be replaced in the lyrics.’

However, Beyonce failed to include an apology.

Fans believe there can be no excuse for ignorance when it comes to using the word – especially after Lizzo apologized for using the same word on her song Grrrls just weeks ago – and had her track re-recorded.

Scandal: Lewinsky famously had an affair with Clinton between 1995 and 1997, with their relationship beginning when she was a 22-year-old unpaid White House intern – and eventually led to his impeachment on December 19, 1998

The word can mean to ‘freak out’ or ‘go crazy’ in the US but it’s very widely known that it comes from the word ‘spastic’.

The term is often used in a derogative manner to describe those with disabilities, especially cerebral palsy.

Warren Kirwan, Media Manager at disability equality charity Scope, said ahead of the statement: ‘It’s appalling that one of the world’s biggest stars has chosen to include this deeply offensive term.

‘Just weeks ago, Lizzo received a huge backlash from fans who felt hurt and let down after she used the same abhorrent language.

Controversy: The singer has been under fire after using an ableist slur in her new song Heated

‘Thankfully she did the right thing and re-recorded the song. It’s hard to believe that could have gone unnoticed by Beyoncé’s team.

‘Words matter because they reinforce the negative attitudes disabled people face every day, and which impact on every aspect of disabled people’s lives.

‘Beyoncé has long been a champion of inclusivity and equality, so we’d urge her to remove this offensive lyric.’

Earlier, Twitter was awash with comments from those who couldn’t believe that Beyonce, nor any members of her team would have not noticed that the word was an offensive one – especially after Lizzo’s very public apology.

Taking action: A statement given to MailOnline on Monday said ‘The word, not used intentionally in a harmful manner, will be replaced in the lyrics’; pictured 2019

They wrote: ‘Bizarre that Beyoncé chose to include an ableist slur in one of her new songs right after Lizzo learnt from her mistake and took the same slur out from her song.’

‘So so disappointed that Beyoncé has used an ableist slur in Heated It’s the same one Lizzo used (& corrected very gracefully)… this was high profile enough that the same mistake shouldn’t have happened again So sick of non-disabled artists not recognizing harm in their words.’

‘It’s very hard to believe neither Beyoncé nor anyone in her team didn’t recognize the ableist slur when Lizzo very publicly made the same mistake a month ago (and graciously corrected it). Exhausting.’

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Beyonce for comment.
