‘This is outstanding TV’: New Netflix comedy series Beef bags coveted 100 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score as it’s lauded by critics and fans as ‘one of kind’ and ‘showstopping’

It appears Netflix has another major hit on its hands, after its latest series Beef secured a perfect 100 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Beef is a ten-episode comedy series, that debuted on the streaming platform last Thursday.

The show tells the story of two stranger who get involved in a road rage incident and the aftermath.

It stars Steven Yeun as a Danny Cho, a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, goes head-to-head with Amy Lau (Ali Wong), a person living a rather different picturesque life as a self-made entrepreneur.

An official synopsis from Netflix says: ‘The increasing stakes of their feud unravel their lives and relationships in this darkly comedic and deeply moving series.’

The show has been universally lauded by critics and fans alike, with the acting and writing being singled out for praise.

The Telegraph’s Benji Wilson called it ‘the best new series of the year so far’ and added: ‘Wong and Yeun are both superlative from the first scene and the script is terrific too: wickedly funny, deft and smart.’

The Independent’s Ann Marie Hourihane called the acting ‘wonderful’ and said: ‘I would watch Beef even if I wasn’t paid to. That’s how good it is.’

While Ellen E Jones from The Guardian declared the series was ‘a delicacy worth savouring.’

And viewers at home are also loving the new show, with many taking to Twitter to praise it.

One gushed: ‘I’m soooo happy people are watching and loving #Beef. It’s truly one-of-kind, never-seen-before, and show-stopping.

‘The greatest example of storytelling as therapy. Obsessed to say the least.’

Even comedian and actress Mindy Kaling joined in, tweeting: ‘This show Beef is so good, I love it’.
