Jordan Cashmyer’s death has been confirmed by her father, Dennis M Cashmyer, in a Facebook post on Sunday morning.

The heartbreaking statement read: “Last night I received a call no parent ever wants.

“My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken.

“We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, granddaughter Lyla and family members.”

TMZ reports a medical examiner has confirmed Jordan’s passing but no cause of death has been shared.

Jordan appeared on the MTV reality show, 16 & Pregnant, in 2014 alongside her boyfriend at the time, Derek Taylor.

Fans of the show will remember that the couple were homeless as she was about to give birth.

Her tough story played out to the world as Jordan’s family did not approve of her relationship with Derek.

She welcomed daughter Genevieve Shae Taylor in March of that year, but the former couple called time on their relationship shortly after their appearance on the reality show.

Jordan’s father and stepmother stepped in and temporarily shared guardianship of their granddaughter.

A year later, Jordan signed away her custody rights to Derek’s mother on a temporary basis.

According to TMZ, she was struggling with mental health issues, addiction, and had suicidal thoughts at the time.

Jordan later dealt with legal issues, while she was working at a strip club and got arrested for drug possession in 2017.

In June 2021, Jordan gave birth to her second daughter. Lyla.

Hundreds of fans have shared messages of condolence after hearing the sad news.

Facebook user David penned: “Oh my God Dennis. That’s terrible news. I’m so sorry to hear this.”

Clara echoed: “Dennis we are so sorry to hear about your daughter. Prayers for you and your family. RIP Jordan.”

While Beth added: “I can’t imagine your grief. Please know we are thinking of you and are in our prayers.”
