‘It is something I have to work on every day’: Dancing On Ice’s Rachel Stevens reveals she is still having therapy to cope with her time in S Club 7
Rachel Stevens has told how she is still receiving therapy to cope with her experience of being in iconic noughties bad, S Club 7.
The singer, 43, who is taking part in the 2022 series of Dancing On Ice, explained that she is very good at putting on a show face and putting a lid on things’.
Rachel was a member of the popular pop band from 1999 to 2003 and hit the top spot in the charts four times with singles including Don’t Stop Movin’.

During a new interview with the Sun, Rachel explained how she used to push down how she was feeling, but ‘sucking it up’ ended up taking a toll on her mentally.
She told the news outlet: ‘I’ve spent a lot of time trying to learn to undo that. It’s something I have to work on every day. I still speak to a therapist. That really helps.’
As well as being a member of one of Britain’s biggest pop bands, Rachel also took part and came second on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.

Despite her showbiz past, Rachel denied that any prior experience she has had will give her an advantage on the ice rink.
Her co-star Brendan Cole has also faced allegations that his professional dancer background will give him an unfair advantage in the competition.
Rachel, who is paired with Brendyn Hatfield, said: ‘We all come into the show with our own different backgrounds and careers.

‘I’m not a trained dancer. And at the end of the day, it’s on ice so no matter what you do, that adds a whole other level of challenge. It’s crazy.’
Rachel didn’t skate during the first week of the show, however she will compete against five other couples during next Sunday’s episode.
Rachel will be supported by her husband husband of 12 years Alex Bourne and their two daughters Amelia, 11, and Minnie, seven.

Rachel recently shared her thoughts on her upcoming stint on Dancing On Ice and admitted she is ‘terrified.’
She told Hello! Magazine about the new series: ‘It’s such a great team of people and I love my partner, so it’s all super-exciting but terrifying at the same time. Totally terrifying!’
Rachel revealed that the only time she has spent on an ice rink is with her children, where she was ‘wobbling around’ with them.
She went on: ‘I’ve danced and performed for years but doing it on ice means starting something totally from scratch.’

‘But I can’t wait to just go for it and have fun – and I’m loving working with Brendyn. He’s just adorable and such a brilliant teacher.’
A new batch of celebrities, including Love Island favourite Liberty Poole and Happy Mondays star Bez, made heir debut this week.
Also among this year’s star-studded cast are Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, while Strictly pro Oti Mabuse makes her debut as a judge.
Rugby star Ben Foden, professional dancer Brendan Cole and The Vamps’ Connor Ball will also compete.

The singer threw herself into training with professional dance partner Brendyn, who uploaded a clip of their progress ahead of the series.
The mother-of-two took to the ice to practice her ‘spins’, with partner Brendyn laughing in a social media video as he joked that Rachel needed to work on her ‘edges’ instead.
Jokes aside, taking to Twitter her professional partner announced: ‘Beyond thrilled with her skating ability and her excitement to learn even more. I literally can’t wait to start creating our future routines together!’
