Rebekah Vardy braves the chop as she ditches her trademark long locks to debut sleek new bob cut amid Coleen Rooney legal battle

She is currently locked in a legal battle with fellow WAG Coleen Rooney, following their fallout in 2019.

And it seems Rebekah Vardy is keen to put her Wagatha Christie troubles to the back of her mind, as she revamped her look on Wednesday – debuting a brand new bob cut on Instagram for fans to see.

The 39-year-old wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy, 34, ditched her trademark long locks to try out a new look, braving the chop before showcasing the stunning finished result.

Posting to her Instagram page, Rebekah looked gorgeous as she posed for the first time with her chic new look.

Gone were her usual long tresses that reached down past her back, with Rebekah now sporting short and voluminous locks that sit just below her chin.

She swept her freshly-chopped mane over to one side as she posed for a selfie in the mirror of her dressing room.

Rebekah was dressed down in a nude cami top and marble-style gym leggings.

‘Wow absolutely love it,’ posted a third, while another follower added: ‘Lovely, it really suits you.’

Rebekah’s new look comes after she recently enjoyed a trip away to Mykonos amid her legal drama.

She and Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen have been locked in a legal battle, ever since Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking false stories about her to the press.

Coleen attempted to out Rebekah in her own sting operation on Instagram that saw her share false stories to her private account and sharing them only with her fellow WAG.

Rebekah has vehemently denied Coleen’s claims and vowed to clear her name.

Their High Court battle is ongoing and last month, Coleen scored another victory as court proceedings play out and Rebekah was ordered to pay £10,500 towards her.

It’s a further blow to the DOI star’s long-running £1million libel suit against Coleen, who last week claimed a 2-1 victory in the latest round of their fight.

The victory came after a judge rejected Rebekah’s bid to remove substantial parts of Coleen’s defence relating to her rival’s dealings with The Sun newspaper and its column The Secret Wag.

Judge Mrs Justice Steyn ruled that such dealings could be a relevant part of her defence of libel action brought by Rebekah following the leaking of Coleen’s private Instagram posts to The Sun in 2019, which she denies.

Coleen’s legal team compared the win to a ‘2-1 victory in the semi-final’ and are increasingly confident going into the next part of the battle in the autumn.

A source said: ‘Coleen’s legal team will present further evidence concerning Rebekah Vardy’s dealing with The Sun and links with The Secret WAG.

‘There are lot of people with knowledge of her long term relationship with the newspaper and how it worked. Last week’s ruling could open a Pandora’s Box for Rebekah.’

Legal battle: Rebekah has vowed to clear her name in a libel trial after Coleen accused her of leaking false stories about her to the press – claims Rebekah vehemently denies

However, Charlotte Harris of law firm Kingsley Napley, representing Rebekah, said: ‘The Judge has struck out about 10 pages of material from Mrs Rooney’s defence as irrelevant or a waste of court time.’

Coleen has to re-plead the part of her public interest defence which was said by the Judge to be ‘impermissible’.

‘This is now Mrs Rooney’s third attempt at a putting forward a defence to Mrs Vardy’s libel claim. She has been ordered to cover the costs of this exercise and Mrs Vardy’s costs of amending her Reply,’ Harris explained.

The Judge made three costs orders – two in favour of Rebekah and one in favour of Coleen for £10,500.

‘Although the Judge did not allow the Summary judgement application, she said in her judgement that there was “some force” in Mrs Vardy’s case that there are very significant differences between the TV Decisions Articles and the post on which it is supposed to be based. This goes to the heart of the case,’ Harris continued.

‘Mrs Vardy is not the Secret Wag. The Judge has made clear that the identity of the Secret Wag does not go to the core issues and has reserved the ability to cut out or limit this issue in the future.

‘Mrs Vardy is completely confident that she will succeed at trial.’
