Deep-pocketed fans of Schitt’s Creek should be on the lookout now that a mansion featured in the show’s opening episode is on the market.

The Toronto mansion that served as the original home of the Rose family is now up for sale for $14.98 million.

The French Chateau-style mansion was first put on the market in 2018 for $21.788 million, but it has been periodically relisted with price dips.

In the pilot episode of Schitt’s Creek, Johnny Rose (played by co-creator Eugene Levy) learns that his business manager has embezzled nearly all of his fortune, leaving him with nothing.

He and his former soap actress wife (Levy’s longtime comedy partner Catherine O’Hara) are forced to take their deadbeat children (Levy’s real-life son and co-creator Dan Levy and Annie Murphy) to the single property they still own: a backwoods rural town named Schitt’s Creek.

The formerly wealthy snobs have to make due with living in two rooms at a rundown motel while trying to integrate themselves with the locals.

The series was a hit with critics after airing on Pop TV in the US and the CBC in Canada, but it broke out with audiences after season three when older episodes were added to Netflix.

Down and out: The Rose family (played by co-creators Eugene and Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy) lose all their money in the pilot and leave their mansion for a tiny motel in the rural town of Schitt’s Creek, which is the last thing that they own

Opulent: It’s obvious why the Toronto mansion would be the perfect location to display the Rose family’s former wealth, as the home was designed to ‘resemble Versailles,’ said Sam Mehrbod, CEO of Roomvu.com
