‘It will RUIN the show’: Sex And The City fans go into meltdown as reboot cast film funeral scenes – after insiders claimed a MAJOR character will be killed off
It was recently reported that a major Sex and the City character will be killed off in the first episode of the show’s comeback series.
So fans of the franchise went into meltdown as cast members of And Just Like That… were seen filming funeral scenes in New York City.
A viral TikTok video showed extras wearing all black milling around the Wolf Building in Chelsea, with fans immediately sharing their theories on who could be the big name getting the axe.

Frontrunners to be killed off are Samantha Jones and Mr Big, played by Kim Cattrall and Chris Noth respectively, while Steve Brady (Miranda Hobbes’ husband played by David Eigenberg) and Magda (Miranda’s housekeeper played by Lynn Cohen) have also had their names thrown into the ring.
Last week, a source close to the show teased that ‘it is going to be a big death’ – hinting at the fact it could be Big – who plays Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) husband.
Other show insiders have been speculating it could be the death of Samantha, following the bitter feud between actresses Kim and Sarah, which saw Kim refuse to sign on for a proposed third movie or the reboot.
Could it be? One of the frontrunners to be killed off is Mr Big, played by Chris Noth, who starred as Carrie Bradshaw’s husband, played by Sarah Jessica Parker
Taking to TikTok, distressed fans penned: ‘Rumor has it it’s Mr Big?’; ‘Lord forgive me please be Big. I can’t handle more back and forth with him and Carrie, enough is enough lol’; ‘There’s going to be no point watching the show at this rate’; ‘
Maybe Miranda’s mother in law? Or Magda?’ ‘Maybe they kill off Miranda’s husband since he’s on another show already?’; ‘They will likely be a misdirect. You think it’s Samantha’s fueral but it’s like for someone’s pet… and there will be some tie to Samantha’.
‘Ok why do they have to do something so depressing? Why would Big have to die? That will ruin it for me.’

While the name likely will not be confirmed until the first episode airs, one thing is for certain, with sources insisting that Carrie will not die in episode one.
Only senior cast and crew have been made aware of the character kill-off, and are sworn to secrecy.
Executive producer SJP wants to ‘shake up audiences from the get go to make them realize this is a different paced show from the previous one, where anything can happen and anyone can go… just like life’, the source said.

The insider added that the shock death in the show will lead column writer turned podcaster Carrie to reunite with characters with whom she has had rocky relations during the TV series.
Sarah has rejoined Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, reuniting the girl gang in the last few weeks for filming around locations in New York.
The source said: ‘This is all top secret at the moment, because production has just started.
‘But in the first episode fans will be served up a jaw-dropping storyline where one of the major names on the show will die.
‘Those in the know are calling it a ”big death”, which obviously has everyone leaping to the conclusion that Mr. Big will be no more.
‘But we have been implored not to say anything or divulge any other info, because HBO wants this to be one of their huge promotional points for the launch.
‘Obviously Samantha Jones is a clear candidate for the chop too, given Sarah and Kim’s ongoing war.
‘Only the leading stars and show executives are aware of this presently and are desperate to keep a lid on it – a coffin lid.’
The source asked for anonymity to avoid reprisals from bosses, but added that they believe the tantalizing information will ‘only excite fans more about what drama is in store for them next year.’
‘From what we have read so far there are plenty of twists and turns ahead,’ they said.

In May, HBO and show creator Michael Patrick King confirmed Mr. Big will be back, but did not specify for how long.
Big will return with John Corbett and David Eigenberg who played Aiden and Steve, respectively, for the iconic revival.
‘I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on And Just Like That…,’ executive producer Michael said in a statement in May. ‘How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex And The City story without our Mr. Big?’
However, last month, Page Six got a glimpse at Emmy-nominated sound mixer Charles Hunt’s script pages revealing Carrie will be divorcing her on/off flame.
‘I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair,’ Carrie tells her friends in the leaked scene. ‘Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?’
Fans first got hooked on Sex And The City over six seasons, from 1998 to 2004, before two feature films followed in 2008 and 2010.
The first movie made $415million in 2008, its sequel fared less well but still earned $288million.
A third planned movie failed to happen amid the growing rifts fueled by Kim with SJP.
