Updating fans on Tuesday, Stacey penned: ‘He’s gone in. Thinking of all the mummys and daddys and carers and extremely brave pickles who have to do this all of the time. It’s not nice at all. You’re amazing, honestly you really are.’

Stacey could be seen resting her hand on Rex’s back while he lay across her lap and they watched Moana together following the procedure.

The star packed lots of home comforts for the trip including a soft grey blanket, fake plant and the two-year-old’s night light.

Ahead of their return to hospital on Monday, Stacey shared a series of clips of her preparations and explained that the ward had called them to come back.

Concerned mama: Rex was called back into the hospital on Monday afternoon once a bed had opened up for the two-year-old

Stacey said: ‘Because of where it is on his lips they can’t glue it or anything it has to be stitched so we will stay tonight and hopefully he will get it done nice and early.’

In another post, Stacey continued: ‘I’m in Rex’s room packing his bag and downloading Moana … and some Friends episodes for me.

‘My baby brain is not great at the moment so if any of you know any good things I will probably forget let me know.’

Stacey packed a selection of snacks for Rex, so he had all his favourite things to enjoy once he could eat again, and a few bits for herself.

She had also detailed being on butterfly ‘stitch watch’ throughout Monday, saying that her son is very ‘animated’ when he talks and she had to make sure the stitches didn’t ‘ping off’ because they’re in an awkward place on his face.

Stacey had revealed that the family had a ‘bit of a nightmare’ on Monday, explaining that Rex was taken to A&E where they were told he required stitches.

And it transpired that the ordeal was too much for Stacey’s fiancé and Rex’s dad Joe Swash, 39, as she told how he had to leave the room because he was too upset.

Sweet: Late on Monday, Stacey shared a picture of her and Rex watching Moana together in the hospital bed

Speaking on her Instagram stories, Stacey kept her followers up-to-date with their drama over the weekend, telling the camera: ‘We had a nightmare yesterday.

‘Rex fell over in the garden and we were like, ‘Up you get.’ Then we looked and it was not an ‘up you get’ situation.

‘He hurt his lip so we took him into A&E and he had some little butterfly strips put on.’

She went on: ‘I’m going back today to get him proper stitches, because it’s in a really awkward place.’

Ready: She packed a large fluffy bunny and lots of snacks into the bags for the overnight stay

Getting ready: The mother-of-three asked fans for any ideas on what would be good to pack

Waiting game: The toddler seemed to be in good spirits after returning home on Monday as he played in the garden, with Stacey later revealing they’d been called back into hospital

Praising the toddler’s bravery, she added: ‘But he was so good, he didn’t make a sound. He was just like: ‘Yeah, fix it,’ to the doctor. But he was so good.’

The former X Factor contestant then turned the camera to beau Joe, 39, saying: ‘Joe on the other hand did not enjoy it!’

Joe then shook his head, responding: ‘Honestly, when the kids are hurt I panic like nobody’s business.’

To which Stacey said: ‘He had to leave the room and he [Rex] wasn’t even crying! It was so funny. Bless him so, I’ll be looking after Joe today more than Rex. I love you.

‘But that’s why I’ve been so quiet but everything’s fine.’

Oh no! Stacey revealed she had to rush her youngest son to hospital after he fell over and cut his lip on Monday

Stacey later shared a snap of her and Rex waiting in the hospital ahead of getting his stitches put in.

Hours before the hospital news, Stacey shared a snap of Rex happily playing on his inflatable garden slide, though it’s unclear at what point he had his accident.

It comes after Stacey shared heartwarming images of herself cradling her blossoming baby bump as she enjoyed a spa break with her sister Jemma.

The TV star beamed from ear to ear as she wrapped her hands around her stomach while soaking up the sun in a baby blue swimsuit.

Captioning the snap, Stacey wrote: ‘Oh Hello Little One. This may well be more food baby than actual baby the way I’ve eaten this weekend but it’s made me smile so much tonight.

Worried: And it transpired that the ordeal was too much for Stacey’s fiancé and Rex’s dad Joe Swash to bear as she told how he had to leave the room because he was too upset

Anxious: The former X Factor contestant then turned the camera to beau Joe, 39, saying: ‘Joe on the other hand did not enjoy it’, with Joe responding that he ‘panics’ when the kids are hurt

‘The sunset is so pretty so I took a picture and I’ll always look back at it and treasure the bread and the baby forever.

‘I was so gutted when I had Rex early and didn’t document growing him. We didn’t think we would get to do it all again so I’m taking all the pictures I can.’

The snap was taken as Stacey has taken the weight off her feet by heading off for a spa break with her sister Jemma.

She took to Instagram on Saturday to update her 4.5million followers about her trip – which included some hilarious gaffes after her sister drove the duo to the wrong spa forcing them to stay one night at the wrong spot.

It comes after Stacey candidly admitted that she was in ‘denial’ and wanted to ‘wait’ to share her pregnancy news publicly.

Before the drama: Hours before the hospital news, Stacey shared a snap of Rex happily playing on his inflatable garden slide, though it’s unclear at what point he had his accident

Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women on Friday, she told the panellists: ‘I don’t think having it out there was ever a worry. You know what I was like girls? I was in denial.

‘I was like, ‘Well you never know, it might not happen, it might not happen’. I think we just wanted to wait to a point where if it was happening, it was actually happening, hopefully.’

And while the former X Factor star and mother-of-three admitted that privacy has its benefits, she also loves being able to ‘share everything’.

She added: ‘Sometimes it’s nice to share everything so everyone’s part of every experience – good or bad. And sometimes it’s nice to just fester in a cave on your own. I’ve gotta stay safe and stay in!’

When it comes to her three sons, Stacey said they are all ‘so excited’ to having another sibling and while Rex is still too young to understand what it means, his love for animals suggests he’ll cope just fine.

She explained: ‘They’re so excited. Rex has no idea. He’s not at that age. But I know that he loves his animals … I think he’ll love it.

‘We’re just so grateful and so privileged to be able to have another baby. We love being parents – it’s our favourite thing in the whole wide world and we cannot wait.’

Seeming to reference Stacey’s nickname for her children, pickles, co-panelist Nadia Sawalha also joked: ‘If it’s as girl you can call it Piccalilli and if its a boy Piccawilly!’
