Former Speaker John Bercow ‘is on the top of Strictly bosses list to appear on the 2021 series as they think he’ll be a lot of fun thanks to his big personality’
Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly eyeing Former Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow to star in the 2021 series.
According to reports on Friday, show bosses are very keen to sign the retired politician, 57, onto the next series as he is bound to be ‘so much fun’.
John served as the Commons Speaker from 2009 to 2019, he left the post in the summer of 2019 after announcing he was stepping down in October 2018.

A source speaking to The Sun claimed: ‘He’s been in demand ever since he quit the Commons in 2019 but so far has resisted any offers, no matter how much is being offered.
‘John is such a big personality and would be so much fun, hence why they’re so keen to get him on board.
‘There has even been talk of offering him more than the standard fee.’

The insider added that they were interested in bringing John in for the 2020 series after Bill Bailey became the oldest person to win the show in December.
MailOnline has contacted John’s representatives for comment, when approached Strictly spokespeople declined to comment.
Bill and his professional partner Oti Mabuse were crowned champions of the 2020 series and won the coveted Glitterball trophy after beating Jamie Laing, Maisie Smith, and HRVY.
The victory turned Oti into Strictly’s first ever back-to-back champion after she first won the show in 2019 with Kelvin Fletcher.

She praised her celebrity partner for being ‘a friend, father figure and brother,’ after they beat HRVY, Maisie and Jamie in the final.
Oti fought back tears as she said: ‘I think you are amazing, remarkable Bill Bailey, you just put your heart into everything.
‘You’re in your world, but I love your world and I always want to be a part of you, thank you for being a friend, thank you for being a father figure and a brother and for this!’ as she gestured to the sparkling trophy.

In the show Bill and Oti delivered a fierce Showdance complete with pyrotechnics, lifts, and plenty of drama, to Queen’s The Show Must Go On with even Craig gushing it ‘reeked of desperation and he loved it.’
The duo received their first ever 30 for the performance, and the first perfect score of the evening, with Bill fighting back tears as he vowed the dance was a symbol of the nation carrying on during such unprecedented times.
They also performed an energetic Quickstep to Talk To The Animals by Bobby Darin and their Couple’s Choice hip-hop routine to Rapper’s Delight by The Sugar Hill Gang.
