Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer was noticeably absent from the semi-final last weekend after sustaining an injury. Today, the 39-year-old shared an update about her recovery process on Instagram in a Q&A with fans. on her Story, Karen’s boyfriend was seen using a leg recovery system in an attempt to get her better and up dancing again.

Karen was seen resting on her sofa as she showed fans her legs placed in compression boots.

The dancer’s boyfriend explained: “This is going to compress your legs and help the blood flow.”

“Circulation,” she chimed in, to which he agreed. 

Her partner went on to say that particular session would take 15 minutes.

Seemingly fed up with the situation, Karen added: “This is how I’m doing today, I did my little rehab.

“[And], all my exercises this morning already. I had a little hydro-facial after which was nice.

“And now here I am, siting on the couch.”

Another fan asked her if she was going to be at the Strictly Come Dancing final this weekend.

Karen said she’ll be “making a little appearance” on the show, but wouldn’t be able to dance.

The dancer isn’t the only Strictly star injured this week.

AJ Odudu’s spot in the final is hanging in the balance after she injured her foot in rehearsals this week.

This morning, the presenter was spotted still using crutches as she made her way out of a physiotherapy.

As part of a lengthy caption yesterday, she said she had “a repeated traumatic impact injury to my right ankle affecting the joint, capsule and ligaments themselves.

“I can’t pinpoint a moment it actually happened during training but the pain came on suddenly on Monday night.

“The pain was so acute that I projectile vomited and currently I can’t put any weight on my right foot without agonising discomfort.”

She went on to say she was unable to rehearse, but was hoping to be back on the dance floor for the final.

If allowed to dance, AJ will compete for the Glitterball trophy against John Whaite and Johannes Radebe and Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice.

In a further blow, former 2021 contestant Tilly Ramsay revealed she will not be returning to the final due to having coronavirus.

Taking to her Instagram, she wrote: “So sad to be missing the Strictly final – but sadly have tested positive for covid so will be watching from my sofa and cheering on the amazing finalists from home on Saturday night.

“Wishing everyone lots of love & good luck x Tilly,” she added alongside heart emojis.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.05pm on BBC One.
