Suzanne Somers, 75, pitched Three's Company redo

Suzanne Somers, 75, pitched Three’s Company redo with a HOLOGRAM version of the late John Ritter, wants Jenny McCarthy to play her and thinks sex with her husband, 85, is ‘great’ in wild and wide-ranging interview

Suzanne Somers wanted to star again on Three’s Company, the hit 1970s sitcom about three roommates living by the beach in Los Angeles.

And the 75-year-old actress’ idea was to use a hologram version of John Ritter – who died in 2013 – as well as his son, actor Jason Ritter, 42.

Also in her wide-ranging Behind The Velvet Rope With David Yontef podcast interview, the blond bombshell said that her sex life with her husband Alan Hamel, 85, makes her feel like she’s ‘having an affair’ and she wants Playboy star Jenny McCarthy to play her in a story of her life.

Not a bad idea: Suzanne Somers wanted to star again on Three’s Company, the hit 1970s sitcom about three roommates living by the beach in Los Angeles. And the 75-year-old actress’ idea was to use a hologram version of John Ritter – who died in 2013 – as well as his son, actor Jason Ritter, 42; seen this week on Instagram

As far as a Three’s Company reboot that would star John Ritter’s son and a hologram of John Ritter (who played Jack Tripper), she said, ‘I had suggested a show where you would imagine that Chrissy Snow and Jack Tripper eventually got married and they had a child and the child was Jason Ritter.

‘And I had suggested this to Jason’s people and that the show would be me and Jason, but that John would appear as a Hologram because it’d be like he was back and alive, but Jason doesn’t want to do anything reminiscent of what his father did. ‘

She said that was the last time she got ‘turned on by thinking about doing a series again’

The host said maybe another actor besides Jason could do it.

A hit! She came to fame with John Ritter on Three’s Company which debuted in 1976; also seen here are Joyce DeWitt, Norman Fell, Richard Kline and Audra Lindley

And Suzanne replied: ‘The marketing is so much better. Suzanne Sommers and John Ritter, son, Jason. And I guess that’s what he didn’t want, but that’s a marketer’s dream. Suzanne Sommers and Fred Schmoe is not a marketer’s dream. You know what I mean?’

She wants Jenny McCarthy to play her in a movie of her life.

‘Oh, I’m so glad they’re doing the movie of Cher’s life. I don’t know. Gosh, maybe Jenny McCarthy. Yeah. Yeah. Jenny and I have a similar rhythm. So maybe, maybe. I don’t know. I’ve never given it a thought until just this moment.’

Suzanne also shared that her sex life is so good with her husband that she feels like she’s ‘having an affair.’

‘I talk about my sex life, but I’m not going to put it on tape,’ she said. Suzanne and Alan Hamel have been married since 1977.

Hot stuff: Here the siren is seen on the beach in LA in 1982. She has made a business of staying young looking

‘You asked about that. Why do I talk about my sex life? I talk about my sex life, not for the shock value, but so that, my brand is my age. I don’t hide my age. I liked my age. I like that I’m aging the way I’m aging. And most people think at my age and my husband’s age, that that part of your life is over.

‘And I talk about it to let them know that when you restore yourself, remember aging is about worn out parts and you put back what you’ve lost in the aging process you get you back and you get you back sexually too.

‘So I talk about it so that people will know that it ain’t over. And I don’t see any signs of anything slowing down. It’s kind of incredible. I’m having, like, I’m in love with Alan Hamel and I’m having, I feel like I’m having an affair. It’s so fantastic. Yeah.’

No sex tape: Suzanne also shared that her sex life is so good with her husband that she feels like she’s ‘having an affair.’ ‘I talk about my sex life, but I’m not going to put it on tape,’ she said. Suzanne and Alan Hamel have been married since 1977. Seen with husband Alan Hamel in 2018

She also said she did not fully enjoy starring on Dancing With The Stars.

‘Well, I did as you know, Dancing With The Stars and I liked it. Didn’t love it. Cause again, I wasn’t in control of how I was put out there and I like to be the best at everything I do.

‘And there’s no way you can be the best when you’re dancing with professional dancers when you’re not a professional dancer. But I had a good partner, Tony Dovolani and he took care of me and it got me in shape to get ready for my residency. I, you know, I, I really, I went to my room that I had in Vegas in the best shape I’ve been in my entire career. So it was good for that. Forced exercise, six, seven, sometimes nine hours a day. I mean, it’s exhausting. Yea, but it’s good.’

Her twin: She wants Playboy cover girl Jenny McCarthy to play her in a movie; seen on The Masked Singer

She has kept her looks over the decades.

The Step By Step actress shared to Park magazine that she eats only organic and also used fresh herbs that are like ‘medicine.’

‘It’s as though nature knew we’d be bombarded with free radicals and chemicals coming into our bodies all the time,’ she explained.

‘Bringing these antioxidants into your food helps eliminate free radicals.’

Somers likes fresh herbs and spices, like rosemary, thyme, tarragon, mint, turmeric, chives, cayenne, cumin and cinnamon.

And she said to ingest omega-3 oils like olive, flax, or coconut oil, to help keep cell membranes pliable, ‘allowing air and water to flow through and flush chemicals that enter the body from food or the environment.’

Showstopper: The siren has still managed to retain her natural good looks

One of her favorite dishes is organic chicken with olive oil, rosemary and thyme. She adds sea salt.

‘When I eat this meal, I think it’s like healthy medicine I’m eating,’ she said. ‘It’s just so delicious.’

In her fifties she was diagnosed with breast cancer and that made her turn to clean eating.

‘I have to say that since I embraced health, I have never enjoyed life more,’ the northern California native shared.

‘I like the way I look. I like the way I feel. I like my energy. I have wisdom. I have perspective, and I can tell you that aging can be so incredible if you know how to approach it.’

The ThighMaster queen added it takes work.

‘Aging is amazing,’ she said. ‘Aging is something you should aspire to and look forward to and want.’

But a healthy life is crucial.

‘It’s about health; about shifting your thinking and understanding what it is that’s making us sick and how we can combat it.’

And when women over 50 feel achy, Suzanne said listen and heal it.

‘We have to learn the language of our bodies: Itching, b***ing, lack of sleep, sweating, bloating, forgetfulness, being dried up; that’s the body talking.

‘You can’t sleep unless you balance your hormones. When you don’t have hormones, you don’t care about sex. I mean, you can do it, but you’d rather have a smoothie. I didn’t like being there. I used to really like it, and I had three miserable years.’

She told Park that between 1977 and 1980, she and Alan were regulars at Studio 54.

‘Even when it was happening, we knew that this was going to be historic, which of course it is,’ said the American Graffiti star.

‘We always stayed at the Morgan Hotel in the penthouse suite, which was filled with large bouquets of fragrant red roses.

‘We would sit on the outdoor terrace and on beautiful nights, having a glass of wine while mesmerized by the spires of Manhattan.’

Her favorite NYC restaurant was Rao’s! ‘The first time we were there, many, many, years ago, the waiter came to the table, and I requested the wine list. He looked at me, and with a heavy New York accent, he said, ‘I am the wine list. Do you want red or white?’

‘Another evening, our dear, dear, old friend Don Rickles was at Rao’s and two wise guys walked in, impeccably dressed in gray silk suits with just enough cuff, the perfect Windsor knot, and every hair in place. Plus, they were not smiling.

‘Don got everyone there to loudly hum the Godfather theme. We thought they were going to ‘take care of’ Don, but instead they broke up, their posture changed, they were laughing hysterically, and it was Don Rickles’ night.’
