‘I feel as if I’m going a bit crazy:’ Tamzin Outhwaite, 51, admits she’s ‘struggling’ to cope with the menopause after it ‘permanently changed’ her ‘chaotic’ life
Tamzin Outhwaite has admitted she was forced to reconsider her ‘chaotic’ life after the menopause limited her from undertaking her usual activities.
The actress, 51, confessed she feels like she’s ‘going crazy’ and is ‘struggling’ to find her ‘nurturing and calm side’ following the onset of the natural change.
She told The Mirror: ‘I’m in the process of trying everything I can to deal with the symptoms. I feel as if I’m going a bit crazy right now, but I have to realise it’s because of a hormone imbalance.’

Juggling medication with lifestyle changes, she has been forced to question things about herself which have been permanently changed, she has claimed.
The former EastEnders star said: ‘I can’t do what I used to do in my everyday life. My life used to be so chaotic. There’s also a very nurturing and calm side to me and I’m struggling to find that side of myself again.
‘I’m hoping yoga will help. It’s very strange for a woman to get to a stage of her life and think, “Who am I?” But I’m trying to look for the positive in all this. It’s not easy.’
She recently made a YouTube series with her 30-year-old boyfriend Tom Child – a documentary maker – called Dun Breedin’, about women going through the menopause.

It comes after her toyboy declared his love for the Ilford native and described her as ‘his Queen’ while marking their four year anniversary on Instagram.
He wrote: ‘Four years of having the privilege to call Tamzin my love, my soul, my best mate and my co-adventurer. My Queen!’
Tom also shared a series of pictures of the pair including one that saw Tazmin wearing a jumper saying: ‘Choose Love.’

In an interview this year, Tamzin said she has a realistic view of the 20-year age gap between her and Tom and that she would never get in the way of him living his life.
She said: ‘Right now we’re in a really lovely place and I have a very full life. Tom is my partner and my lover. I’m not going to stop him living his life at this age. I’m very aware of that and I’m not being frivolous with my affections. I’m being a realist.
‘But if he decides that’s what he wants in the future then he will go off and there’s no one in the world, surely, that would physically be able to stop somebody else wanting to do that — and why would I anyway?

‘Why would I want him to be with me if he wanted something else? The main thing is that I’m living in the now, which I’ve never really done. I’ve always been like, ‘Oh, when I have a kid’; ‘Oh, when I get married’; ‘Oh, when I buy that house’.
‘Whereas now, for the first time in my life, I’m not going, ‘Oh, when I … ‘ anything.’
Yet Tamzin, who has two daughters – Flora, 12 and Marnie, eight – from her previous marriage to Tom Ellis, has not completely ruled out having a child with Tom.
