‘Thandiwe seems like she can’t get enough of Elijah. When he isn’t working, he is with Thandiwe. They are very much a couple and Elijah is acting like the perfect boyfriend.

‘She isn’t hiding this romance. She wants everyone to know about it.’

Thandiwe has been liking and commenting on the rapper’s social media posts since at least January 2020. However, there is no suggestion they had a relationship back then.

Lonr – real name Elijah Dias – also reportedly liked and commented on some of Thandiwe’s snaps and described her as ‘flawless’ in a photoshoot she did for Bulgari in June.

MailOnline has contacted represntatives of Thandiwe Newton for comment.

Ol was seen for the first time following Thandiwe’s public display of affection during an outing in Lndon on Monday.

The  director was pictured arriving at his home after work, a little under 48 hours after Thandiwe was spotted locking lips with Lonr across the pond.

With Thandiwe’s kiss seemingly confirming the flurry of split speculation, Ol, who was married to the star for 23 years, kept a low-profile, sporting casual attire and a pair of headphones around his neck.

The source added: ‘Thandiwe seems like she can’t get enough of Elijah. When he isn’t working, he is with Thandiwe’ (Lonr pictured in August 2021)

The young musician has insisted Thandiwe’s number one priority is the welfare of her three children.

Lonr, who at 25 is just four years older than the actress’ eldest daughter, has broken his silence on the pair’s relationship, insisting Thandiwe is still focused on the upbringing of her children with the filmmaker – Ripley, 21, Nico, 17, and Booker, eight.

He told Page Six: ‘From the relatively short time I’ve been fortunate to spend with her, I know Thandiwe and Oliver care deeply about the welfare of their children. That’s all I care about right now.’

Thandiwe and the rapper’s professional paths crossed in 2021 when Lonr collaborated with Amber Mark on the track Save My Love.

The song subsequently appeared in the trailer and on the soundtrack for the film Reminiscence, in which the actress starred alongside Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson.

Born in Los Angeles, Elijah is a Grammy nominated rapper and musician who performs under the name Lonr – an acronym of Land of Nothing Real.

Thandiwe, who has been urged to enter rehab, was missing her wedding ring as she strolled hand in hand with the young rapper over the weekend.

It has been reported that she has been suffering with emotional and family problems after separating from Ol.

Ol is a British filmmaker who previously wrote and directed the 2018 musical film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Thandiwe has reportedly been urged to seek mental health support following the break-up of her marriage – and an alleged bust-up with Magic Mike co-star Channing Tatum over Will Smith ‘s Oscars slap – which she has denied.

A source said: ‘Thandiwe had been acting strange on set, she has been very highly strung. Her apparent breakdown caused so much disruption, it became clear she couldn’t play the role.

‘There is a lot going on in her personal life, she and her husband have separated. She seemed so stressed she even brought her two pet rabbits to her hotel for emotional support.’

Salma Hayek was pictured on set for Magic Mike 3 in London on Monday, shooting her first scenes opposite Channing Tatum after taking over the role from Thandiwe.

Thandiwe has previously told how she has suffered ‘a number of breakdowns’ in her troubled past, as well as discussing her heartbreaking experiences of sexual abuse, racism and bulimia during her time in the industry.

When she was 16 she was groomed by director John Duigan, who was 39 years old at the time.

The violations by Duigan lasted five years, two of those years were termed a ‘relationship’ after he sought Newton’s parents’ blessing for her to be his girlfriend when she was 18, while asking her to hide their previous intimacy which began when she was just 16.

The Bafta-winning actress has said the relationship left her feeling ‘self-destructive’ and said she has only spoken about it ‘so teenagers can see they can resist and gain self-awareness’.

Speaking to InStyle magazine, Thandiwe claimed Duigan took advantage of her when she was vulnerable.

She said: ‘I was a very shy, very sweet girl. I wasn’t in control of the situation. Would I have liked things to be different? Sure.

‘But I can now value myself more for the way I got through it. I don’t see myself as a victim.’
