The Witcher Season 3 IMDB fan ratings are the worst in series history… as Henry Cavill leaves the series
It seems fans aren’t too pleased with Henry Cavill leaving his beloved role as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, with the final episodes of the show’s third season now the worst-rated in series history.
The 40-year-old actor announced in October 2022 that he was leaving the beloved series, with his final episode released last week, which left fans quite emotional.
A new report from What’s On Netflix reveals that the final three episodes, released last Thursday, were the worst-rated by the fans on IMDb.
The plummeting ratings also brought the overall average for Season 3 down enough to make it, by far, the worst-rated season.
While Cavill is moving on, Netflix has renewed the series for a fourth season, with Liam Hemsworth coming aboard to replace Cavill as Geralt.

The series was already trending downwards as far as the IMDb ratings are concerned, though the final three episodes of Season 3 are by far the show’s worst.
The sixth episode actually rebounded a bit with a 7.0 rating, the highest of the season, following a 6.0, 5.4 and 5.7 ratings for the previous three episodes.
The show slipped drastically to a new low, though, with the penultimate seventh episode earning a series-low 4.3 rating.
The eighth and final episode of Season 3 rebounded slightly with a 5.3 rating, bringing its season average (an average of the individual episode ratings) to a 5.8.
That’s far below the 8.3 average rating in Season 1 and the 8.0 average rating in Season 2.
The first season spanned eight episodes, with a high rating of 8.6 for the third episode and the low of 7.7 for the second episode, the only one all season that didn’t get at least an 8 rating.
The second season was less-beloved, with a high of 8.5 for the Season 2 premiere and a low of 7.6 for the second episode, though there were four episodes with a 7 rating and four with an 8 rating, as opposed to seven 8’s and one 7 in Season 1.
Interestingly enough, there is also a rather sharp divide between the critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and the audience rating.

Season 1 earned a 68% rating from critics but an 89% audience score, though those numbers essentially reversed in Season 2 with a whopping 95% critics score and a 58% audience score.
Season 3, however, slipped drastically with both critics (76%) and fans (22%), as Henry Cavill leaves the show and fans get ready for Liam Hemsworth to take over as Geralt.
The series is based on the novel series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, which was adapted into a hit video game series.
The story follows Geralt, a monster hunter known as a ‘witcher’ who is sworn to protect Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) in a fictional place known simply as Continent.
