This 90s popstar looks almost unrecognisable as he enjoys a dog walk during rare outing 24 years after the release of THAT White Ladder album – but can you guess who it is?

This 90s popstar looks almost unrecognisable as he was seen on a rare outing walking his dogs at a park in London on Wednesday.

The Grammy-nominated hitmaker, 54, released his first album in 1993, but it wasn’t until the release of White Ladder in 1999 that he shot to worldwide acclaim.

The album has sold over 3 million copies and is one of the best selling albums of all time, with songs including This Year’s Love and Babylon.

The latter song garnered huge acclaim, peaking at number five in the singles chart.

But can you guess who it is?

Out and about: This 90s popstar looks almost unrecognisable as he was seen on a rare outing walking his dogs at a park in London on Wednesday

Yes, it’s David Gray! The singer-songwriter cut a casual figure as he enjoyed a stroll with his pugs after wrapping up a nine-day tour earlier this month.

Following the conclusion of the tour, David tweeted: ‘A farewell to these islands… After having looked forward to it for so many months, the Skellig Tour is now all done and dusted after only 9 days and 6 shows.

‘From start to finish it has been next level stuff, and I’d like to thank my band and crew for pouring their.’

David is best known for his iconic tune Babylon, which was released in 1999, and The One I Love, which reached number eight in the UK charts in 2005.

The star kickstarted his career with his album White Ladder, which was originally released in 1999, but failed to chart.

Following a re-release by ATO Records the record eventually climbed to number one in 2001, and spent three years in the UK Top 100.

That year he also received three BRIT Award nominations; British Male Solo Artist, British Album of the Year and British Single of the Year and a Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist.

Since then David has released eight more albums, most recently Skellig in 2021, and earlier this year he embarked on a whistlestop tour to promote the record.

In the 24 years since Babylon was released, David has continued to tour the world, last year performing shows in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2020, David reflected on the success of his album White Ladder in an interview with Forbes, saying: ‘It does reveal a picture of the late twenties and being slightly lost in the city.

‘The youthful momentum has gone, and now it’s a reckoning with life as to what to do with the rest of it.

‘And there’s an emotional center of a relationship, and how difficult they are. I had been married for quite a few years by this point, so there’s a lot of doubt, but there’s this optimism, too.’

Noting how much his career had stalled before White Ladder catapulted him to stardom, he told The Guardian: ‘By the time I got to my third album, it was a Spinal Tap-style disaster. At one gig the sign outside read: ‘Barbecue ribs sold out, David Gray 9pm.’

In January, David also confirmed that he was back to work on new music, writing on Instagram: ‘Last week marked a welcome return to the discipline of writing and recording after a good couple of months away from the studio.

‘New music still flowing. Officially excited! Also savouring every brain-clearing walk in the cold, clean air and all the time feeding off the light making its incremental gains as the days lengthen.’

David has been married to his wife Olivia since 1993, and they share two daughters.
