He’s taking on the role of Malcolm McLaren in Danny Boyle’s new Sex Pistols drama.
And Thomas Brodie-Sangster was the double of the music manager as he was seen for the first time in character, sporting tight brunette curls and smoking a cigarette while filming on the London set on Wednesday.
The Love Actually actor, 30, was also seen chatting with co-stars Anson Boon, who is playing Johnny Rotten, Toby Wallace, who’ll portray guitarist Steve Jones, and Jacob Slater who’s been cast as drummer Paul Cook.

Thomas wore a loose-fitting blue shirt paired with black leather-look trousers as he channeled his character for the shoot.
He donned a pair of pointed boots and a large silver ring to complete his laid-back look.
The Queen’s Gambit star was also pictured enjoying a cigarette and a hot drink as he took a break from filming before laughing as he ate an ice cream while waiting for his scenes.
Thomas is playing the role of manager Malcolm, who managed the Sex Pistols and also dated designer Vivienne Westwood (played by Talulah Riley in Pistols). Malcom died at the age of 64 in 2010.

He is best known for his breakout role as Sam in Love Actually as well as appearing in Nanny McPhee, Game Of Thrones and most recently, The Queen’s Gambit.
Thomas’s co-star Anson Boon, 21, who portrays Johnny Rotten, also looked almost unrecognisable as he transformed into the punk rocker to film new scenes for the hotly-anticipated show.
Anson also filmed scenes with his onscreen bandmates, however it appeared that Louis Partridge, who will portray bassist Sid Vicious, was absent from the day’s shoot.
The 1917 actor looked almost unrecognisable as he sported Johnny’s signature fiery red hair and punk rocker style with a black blazer adorned in safety pins.
Later on set, Anson underwent a costume change as he was seen wearing a pair of baggy striped trousers with an oversized white shirt and black tie.

Who was Malcolm McLaren?
The man behind the music: Malcolm McLaren managed the Sex Pistols (pictured in 1977)
Malcolm McLaren, who was born in north London in 1946, found notoriety within the music business for managing bands such as The New York Dolls and the Sex Pistols.
He opened infamous clothing boutique Let It Rock in 1971 with his then girlfriend, the fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, with the shop soon being renamed SEX. They had a son, Joseph Corre.
Malcolm first managed American group New York Dolls, and also styled them in America, before turning his attentions to a new band which would become the Sex Pistols in 1975.
While in charge, he organised provocative stunts such as having the punk band play song God Save The Queen on a boat outside the Houses of Parliament.
After releasing album Never Mind The B******s, Here’s the Sex Pistols in 1977, the band accused Malcolm of mismanaging them and refusing to pay them when they asked him for money.
Ex-Sex Pistol John Lydon, who launched a legal despite to win back publishing rights, even called him ‘the most evil man in the world’, according to GQ Magazine.
And after the end of the Sex Pistols after three years in 1978, Malcolm continued in music and found new acts to manage.
He worked with band Adam and the Ants and even created his own music, releasing album Duck Rock in 1983. Malcolm achieved two UK top 10 hits with Buffalo Gals and Double Dutch.
Malcolm died at the age of 64 in 2010 after a long battle with cancer.

Pistols, set for release next year, is based on the legendary rock band – consisting of Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, Paul Cook and Sid Vicious – and their rise to fame in the 1970s.
The filming schedule has been busy in recent days as it shoots a collection of scenes across London.
Last month, the star-studded line-up for the drama was revealed, with Iris Law announced to be following in her father Jude and brother Rafferty’s acting footsteps.
The model, 20, is making her screen debut as Soo Catwoman, one of the icons of the punk scene who became a rising star in the 1970s, and she joins Thomas, Talulah Riley, and Christian Lees as new cast members in Pistol.

A first look image for the TV series, which is based on the memoir of Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, was also revealed following the casting announcement.
Soo Lucas, who dubbed herself Soo Catwoman, is known for her trademark haircut which she created in 1976 to look like she had cat ears.
The hairdo is set to be a very different look for Iris, who usually sports long brunette curls, though she may well wear a wig to emulate Soo’s iconic hairstyle.
Thomas is set to take on the role of Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren, while Talulah will play fashion icon Vivienne Westwood, and Christian will portray the band’s first bass guitarist Glen Matlock.
The six-episode series began principal photography earlier this month, and Danny serves as director and Executive Producer.

Based on Jones’ 2018 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, the supporting cast also includes Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams as punk icon Jordan as well as Sydney Chandler as Chrissie Hynde and Emma Appleton as Nancy Spungen.
Anchored by Steve Jones’ memoir, which offers a fascinating new perspective on one of rock’s greatest ever stories, Pistol moves from West London’s council estates, to Westwood and McLaren’s notorious Kings Road SEX shop, to the international controversy that came with the release of Never Mind the B******s.
Their single ‘God Save the Queen’ was banned by the BBC and reached Number 1 on the UK’s NME chart, but appeared at Number 2 on the Official UK Singles chart, leading to accusations that the song was purposely kept off the top spot.

Boyle has had an acclaimed TV and movie career. His 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won eight, including the Academy Award for Best Director.
In 2012, Boyle was the artistic director for the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was subsequently offered a knighthood as part of the New Year Honours but declined.
In January, Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment, said in a statement: ‘It’s great to be back in business with Danny Boyle, an exceptional artist responsible for so many great feature films and TV series.’
‘Steve Jones was at the centre of the storm that shook the rock establishment and we’re thrilled to have Danny and the rest of the creative team tell his story as a member of one of music’s most notorious bands – the Sex Pistols.’
