Although, he recently faced personal tragedy when his wife Joan Washington died of lung cancer in September.

He also shared how his experience of lockdown had been a “blessing in disguise” as it allowed him to spend more time with his wife.

Richard continued: “Lockdown last year turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

“Because my wife and I spent nine months after a 38-year marriage with each other every single minute of the day.

“And then, had eight months together for the last months of her life this year.”

Alongside his video, Richard penned to his followers: “And so on that note, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

“Here’s to a Covid-free 2022.”

Elsewhere, Richard also shared an emotional message to his and Joan’s daughter as she marked her birthday.
