Tyra Banks, 47, makes the RARE move of posting makeup-free photos showing her natural gray streaks: ‘Some take a chill pill, I take a wig break’
America’s Next Top Model star Tyra Banks wants her fans to see the real her.
On Monday the Dancing With The Stars host stripped away her makeup and showed her followers her natural hair, which has gray strands, in a set of pictures she posted to Instagram.
The legendary Vogue supermodel, 47, captioned the photo, ‘Some take a chill pill. I take a wig break.’

While the Dancing with the Stars host is well-known for her elaborate cosmetic routine, the supermodel has shown more of her natural beauty recently. Just days ago, the model posted a photo and floored followers with her natural looks.
Banks has made it clear in the past that, even without makeup or a wig, not everything in her appearance is God-given. Banks’ 2018 memoir, Perfect Is Boring, revealed that the star had plastic surgery on her nose years ago.
She also went on to say that she doesn’t like women with natural beauty who judge people that get plastic surgery.
‘Natural beauty is unfair,’ she wrote. ‘I get really uncomfortable when women who are these natural beauties judge anybody who does anything to themselves.’

Despite the public’s positive reaction to Banks’ natural selfies, professional colleagues of the star haven’t had as many nice things to say about her personality.
Janice Dickinson, a well-known America’s Next Top Model Judge, called Tyra cheap and unappreciative on an episode of the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast claiming Banks gave, ‘hamburgers or McDonald’s Whoppers for Christmas presents.’
Other people Banks has worked with over the years have slammed her as well. Lisa D’Amato, a contestant in season 5 of America’s Next Top Model, said Tyra used their childhood traumas to hurt the contestants.

‘You, Tyra, you knew very well the horrible trauma that my mom inflicted on me, and you also talk so much about how you wouldn’t be where you are without your mother and how powerful she is. So knowing that, you still did that to me and continued to do it to other girls, even after I spoke publicly about it,’ D’Amato said in Instagram video posted in January of this year.
While the pace of her professional life is rapid, including her recent acceptance of a job to host Dancing with the Stars next season, her personal life has remained relatively quiet over the past few years.
The model has a son named York with former boyfriend Erik Asla who she split with in 2017. She is dating businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin, and the two have been together since 2019.
The two were seen together at the Day of Indulgence party earlier this week.
