Vanessa Lachey broke down in tears while talking about her marriage to husband Nick during the second season of Netflix show, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On.
While talking to the couples about their various romances, Vanessa, 42, said: ‘Nick [Lachey, 49,] and I have been together for 16 years and we know each other.
‘Married for 11. But it’s so funny that for some reason we don’t learn more about each other until we’re in, like, a therapy session,
‘We do not need to get into this, but it messes with your relationship. And the reason why I’m choking up is because I’ve had to get through so much s—t to be the best woman for Nick.
‘To find that person, that I can trust and that can carry me through, is what made us unstoppable.’

She said: ‘We do not need to get into this, but it messes with your relationship. And the reason why I’m choking up is because I’ve had to get through so much s—t to be the best woman for Nick’
Vanessa added that it’s so important to ‘talk’ and be open with your partner — especially when you’ve found The One.
While giving advice, she said: ‘It’s so freeing to tell everything to them and them still be there to pick you up. It’s really beautiful.
‘And if they don’t, which I’ve had other guys who [have done] that, and they’re not the guy I married.”’
The much-anticipated second season of The Ultimatum premiered on Wednesday, August 23, and follows five brand new couples who will have to decide whether to get engaged, partner up with someone else, or go home alone.
Vanessa and Nick got married in 2011 and have three children Camden, 10, Brooklyn, 8, and Phoenix, 6,
While Nick and Vanessa are undoubtedly doing a great job on the show, a petition was created to remove them as the hosts of Love Is Blind – and it had over 18,000 signatures.
Fans were left extremely unimpressed by the married couple after the Netflix show’s first ever live reunion, which saw ‘cringey’ and ‘biased’ presenting.
Viewers also had a huge problem with Vanessa, who was blasted for her ‘weird baby obsession’ and grilling of contestants over their plans to have children.
Criticism: A petition to remove Nick and Vanessa as the hosts of Love Is Blind surpassed over 18,000 signatures but they seem to be more of a popular choice on The Ultimatum
Going up: Fans of the Netflix show are looking to dethrone the former boy band singer and his wife by garnering as many signatures as possible
The Change.org petition ‘Remove Nick and Vanessa Lachey as the Hosts of Love is Blind’ argues that while the show has had ‘a ton of success’, there is ‘one large problem’ – the hosts.
It begins: ‘From the initial season, the hosts felt pretty useless and out of place.
‘They seem to be much more concerned with directing as much attention at themselves and their personal lives rather than focusing on the contestants that are actually participating in the experiment.
‘Many enjoy the show but it’s being held back from its full potential with cringy Nick and Vanessa Lachey.’
Continuing, it says: ‘Vanessa Lachey is domineering of every reunion and attempts to gain as much camera time as possible by cutting into every conversation, speaking over her husband and contestants, and very badly acting like she cares about members of the cast.
‘Neither Nick or Vanessa make any effort to guide the cast through a confusing and emotional experience and blatantly attempt to stir up drama and leave.
‘Other off-putting behavior includes Nick saying ‘Obviously – I’m Nick Lachey’ when introducing himself (we get it you’re a washed up C-List celebrity congrats), letting the season 2 reunion get completely out of hand, and targeting certain contestants rather than treating them equally during the experiment.
‘Understandably, in the beginning LIB sought out any C-list celebrities to put their show on the map.
‘Now three seasons in, with a cult following and international versions of the show, it is time to upgrade to hosts that don’t make you want to turn off the show every time they speak.
