Viewers slam Kath & Kim anniversary special

Viewers slam Kath & Kim anniversary special after it delivers 10 minutes of new footage: ‘Anyone else feeling cheated?’

Fans of Kath & Kim were left disappointed with Channel Seven’s ‘Our Effluent Life’ special on Sunday night, celebrating 20 years of the Australian comedy series.

Loyal viewers took to social media to slam the network saying that they felt ‘cheated’ and ‘disappointed’ that only 10 minutes of new footage was aired.

The 74-minute program featured a mix of freshly minted scenes as well as never-before-seen moments, and too many bloopers and blunders.

‘Mate. Who let Channel7 do this?’ asked one disgruntled fan on Twitter.

‘Anyone else feeling cheated that we’re not getting a whole new episode,’ wrote a second.

‘I thought these were new episodes. 10 minutes of new material. Channel 7 is effluent,’ complained a third, where others were as happy as Larry at seeing the nation’s favourite foxy morons back in full swing.

‘I know it’s disappointing not to get new full eps, but I’m relishing the bits we are getting,’ wrote another viewer, who was compelled to point out ‘Jane Turner (Kath) and Gina Riley (Kim) are both 61’.

Elsewhere, fans said they were ‘distracted’ with the obvious green screen behind stars Gina (Kim) and Jane (Kath).

‘My god. How bad is that green screen. It’s almost as distracting as Kel’s toupée,’ wrote one fan.

‘I love Kath and Kim but holy hell the green screening is killing me,’ quipped another.

‘Kath probably whipped up this green screen herself, certificate three in green-screening and stunting,’ a third joked.

‘The green screens left a little to be desired but who cares, as long as the laughs are coming in I’m happy!’ commented another.

Meanwhile, one person didn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

‘Get over the green screens you bunch of whiny Briony’s,’ they wrote.
