What Dionne Warwick Has To Say To Wendy Williams Now

Icon Dionne Warwick has never been afraid to speak her mind when something is bugging her, and that was precisely the case in her latest feud with Wendy Williams. As fans of the R&B legend know, Warwick has a big presence on Twitter. Though many think that only tweens and young adults can handle the social media platform, the 80-year-old has proven the system wrong. Warwick is known for making witty jokes on her account, and several of her tweets have gone viral.

According to Billboard, some of Warwick’s most talked-about tweets have come from her playful banter with other singers. One exchange with Chance the Rapper had both fans and Chance buzzing. “Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this,” she tweeted before suggesting that she was “Dionne the Singer.” Chance was thrilled that Warwick mentioned his name and quickly sent a tweet back. “Sorry I’m still freaking out that u know who I am,” he gushed. “This is amazing!”

And while most fans love Warwick’s Twitter game, Wendy Williams has questioned it. According to the talk show host, her niece Brittani helps Warwick draft a lot of her tweets. “I totally believe that she is doing her own tweeting, but I think that Brittani is her right hand,” Williams told Andy Cohen. “After Aunt Dionne does what she wants, after midnight, maybe after some bud.”

Dionne Warwick won't back down

While Dionne Warwick has gotten angry with Wendy Williams in the past, even asking that the talk-show host not utter her name, she is still making her opinions of Williams known. In a March 2021 interview with Page Six, Warwick was quick to shun the haters who have anything negative to say about her Twitter game. “You know they’re gonna say what they wanna say regardless,” the singer dished. “You know, so I just don’t bother to dignify it, you know what? Why waste my time and theirs by continuing to say, ‘Hey, it’s me?’ It’s me is all I can tell you.”

When asked if she had anything specific to say to Williams, Warwick’s answer was playful. “And regarding Wendy? Well, Wendy’s got her own platform, which I’m going to try to invade very soon,” she quipped. “Yes, it’ll be fun. I’m gonna make it fun.” She previously put Williams in her place in December 2020, shortly after Williams claimed her niece helped write Warwick’s tweets. “There’s an old saying you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar,” Warwick wrote on Twitter. “Try it Wendy you might like it.” The legend’s name was trending on Twitter again in March 2021 after she offered her services to write everyone’s Twitter bio.

Nobody knows what witty 280-word work of art Warwick will unleash next but one thing’s for sure: We’re looking forward to it.
