Zach Braff can’t stop singing the praises of his “A Good Person” star — and ex-girlfriend — Florence Pugh. On the red carpet at the March 20 screening of the new film, which Braff wrote and directed, POPSUGAR caught up with Braff about the new movie.
“Can you name a woman in the industry who has inspired you or impacted your life?” POPSUGAR asked during the quick red carpet chat.
“Florence Pugh,” Braff answered immediately, pointing back to where the actor was taking photos on the red carpet. “One of the most incredible actors in the world.” Watch the video of the moment above.
Of course, lots of people agree with Braff that Pugh is one of the greatest actors of our time. She was nominated for her first Oscar in 2020 for her role as Amy March in “Little Women” and has been nominated for two BAFTAs. She’s also received critical acclaim for basically all her roles, including 2016’s “Lady Macbeth,” 2019’s “Midsommar,” and 2022’s “The Wonder.” Later this year, she’s set to appear in “Oppenheimer” and “Dune: Part II.”
And Pugh had to go to new places for “A Good Person.” She chopped her actual hair on camera during one scene in the film — and she was insistent it be her real hair, not a wig. She also wrote, recorded, and released two songs for the movie, written from the perspective of her character, Allison.
