Zara McDermott reveals she secretly had a boob job 12 weeks ago after going under the knife to make her breasts ‘more symmetrical’

Zara McDermott has revealed she secretly went under the knife 12 weeks ago to have her boobs made ‘fuller and more symmetrical’.

The Love Island star, 24, took to Instagram and shared a video about her experience on Thursday, revealing she ‘always planned’ to talk about her surgery.

Zara said she was ‘nervous’ to discuss her breast augmentation, before sharing her experience with her 1.5 million Instagram followers.

The reality personality divulged that she was waiting for her breasts to heal and settle before she revealed her secret surgery.

In a Q&A on her Instagram story, she explained: ‘Crazy how people wanna assume the worst. I categorically have never once said “I haven’t had my boobs done” to anyone on social media since my surgery.

‘I have only had them done for 12 weeks. I was always planning on talking about it! Just when I was fully healed and feeling happy and confident with the result.’

Explaining her previous issues with her breasts, she said: ‘I wanted to add some fullness to the upper part mainly, so yeas in a way, but more so I just wanted them to be balanced and symmetrical!’

Zara admitted that the process was quite painful for her, as she rated the pain in one of her breasts a 7.5 out of 10, but said the other was only a six.

She explained that she suffered from itching following the operation and now just feel ‘a bit fragile’ three months on.

Zara shared pictures of what her scaring looks like now, revealing that one side has a larger scare because she had to have some breast tissue removed.

When a fan asked if Sam ‘knew’ about the surgery, Zara said: ‘Yes he did. He also looked after me, dried my hair every day.

‘I called him straight away after I got out but have no collection of the convo lol.’

Speaking during a YouTube video, Zara explained she has been considering the surgery for around 18 months – ever since she ‘lost a bit of weight’.

She described her boobs as being ‘weird’ before and believes she carried a lot of breast tissue on the ‘base’ of her breasts, especially after she lost weight and considered herself to have a ‘flat chest’.

Zara admitted it was ‘annoying’ having to wear clothes which were too small for her in order to ‘hoist’ her breasts up to offer ‘any sort of cleavage’.

She also revealed the asymmetry in her breasts was becoming worse with age and while one of them was a small B cup, the other was a large C cup.

Zara went on to reveal that another reason for her surgery was due to the fact she has suffered with a medical in condition in her neck since she was 15.

The reality personality explained that two discs in her neck are compressing a nerve which runs down to the hand.

She explained that previously if she wore a push up bra that was too tight for a prolonged period of time her fingers would go numb.

Zara said: ‘When I go on holiday I have to really think about bikinis and often switch them through the day to avoid the problem of them compressing on the nerve’.

After the operation, which took several hours due to the surgeon playing around with a series of different implants, Zara recovered at beau Sam’s house.

During the healing process she revealed she thought one of her breasts was infection and suffered a stitch abscess.
