Dogs are a man’s best friend, and we should be able to treat them as such.

Therefore, isn’t it a shame that they have to miss out on man’s favourite dessert, which is obviously ice cream.

Well, not anymore… frozen treat maestros, Ben & Jerry’s, are launching an ice cream to be enjoyed by your pooch.

The new range, which is called Doggie Deserts, is made of two delicious puppy puddings.

The first flavour is Rosie’s Batch which is made from mini cookies and is flavoured with pumpkin.

The second delectable choice is Poncho’s Mix, which is created with frozen peanut butter and pretzel swirls. Each flavours are named after dogs that belong to Ben & Jerry's staff.

However, don’t worry the foods won’t be bad for your canines as they are not actual ice cream as they are not in fact made with cream.

Dogs are not supposed to consume a lot of dairy, after all.

And, if you are dreaming of sharing a tub with your furry best friend, you can as they are perfectly safe for humans to eat.

But we doubt very much that you will enjoy the flavour combinations…

The frustrating news is that currently the ice cream is only available in America, but like most things it is sure to cross the pond soon if it proves popular.

And in other canine-themed food news, M&S have just launched a very delicious addition to their Easter chocolate range; an adorable sausage dog.

The yummy-looking pooch is called Walter and comes in a kennel shaped box which is emblazoned with the slogan "pawsitively delicious".

For the dog lovers among us, this is a fabulous alternative to an egg, but the only issue is it is almost to cute to eat.

Walter costs just £5 and is already proving to be very popular online.
