There might not be a better candidate to take over the job of New York City’s nightlife mayor.

Page Six can exclusively reveal that ’90s Club Kid, Richie Rich, is interested in the gig.

A spy tells us they were at a birthday bash for Lamia Funti at Lamia’s Fish Market when Rich had run-in with the city’s former head of the “mayor’s office of nightlife,” Ariel Palitz.

“Richie heard her saying she was leaving the position and he asked if he could apply,” a source told us.

“I feel like I have been preparing for this opportunity my whole life,” Rich subsequently told Page Six. “I’ve seen the evolution of nightlife over the years, and I would love the chance to serve my city in a big way and make it go boom!”

He certainly knows a thing or two about going out.

Rich was one of the original “Club Kids,” along with Michael Alig and James St. James, who drew national attention and created a cultural moment for dressing in wild outfits while running around the city’s hottest nightclubs, such as Danceteria and the Limelight.

According to the job listing, the new nightlife mayor will help spots with things like permits and licenses, “address longstanding issues relating to nightlife operations” and “advise on the city’s policymaking to support a vibrant nightlife.”

The Office of Nightlife was created in 2018 by Mayor Bill de Blasio.

In the 2000s, Rich was known for the cool downtown fashion label Heatherette, which was worn by Gwen Stefani, Paris Hilton and Naomi Campbell, among others.

In February he showed off clothes for a new line, called Richerette.
