The Dragons’ Den investor has a fortune of £40million, according to Spear’s magazine.

Her huge sum of money is partly due to her deals on the BBC reality show.

Deborah has reportedly invested more than £3million in various ventures while appearing on the programme.

She is one of the longest serving investors, first appearing on the show in 2006.

While her salary for the programme is not known, Deborah has previously confirmed all the Dragons get paid the same when she discussed the gender pay gap.

Speaking on Loose Women, she said: ““The whole gender thing, it’s terrible… if you’re doing a job and doing it well, you get paid the rate for the job.

“It’s probably market rates. It’s kind of historic. Women didn’t used to get the good jobs. It used to be that they got the quite junior jobs.

“It’s got to move on but it’s stuck to that a little bit.”

While the popular investment show is sure to be a welcome top up to her salary, Deborah had already earned a lot of money through her various business ventures.

The 62-year-old picked up valuable career skills as she studied business at Brighton Technical College.

She moved to Italy where she founded a glass and ceramics export agency which sold products to retailers including Harvey Nichols.

After two years, she sold out to her partner for £10,000.

In 1988, she joined her family’s business running amusement arcade operations.

Deborah used this experience to join holiday part operator Weststar Holidays four years later.

In 2006, she topped up her staggering wealth as she sold the majority of her shares for £33million.

Two years later, her remaining shares were liquidated and her stake was valued at around £19million.

The TV favourite also has money in property and lives in a period home with her husband in Langport, Somerset.

While holidays may be on hold for now amid ongoing travel restrictions, many Britons may still be intending to fly in the coming weeks for “essential reasons”.

Despite this, there is still some time to wait before Britons can jet off on a Portuguese holiday.

Deborah also previously took part in the BBC reality dance show Strictly Come Dancing.

Those who sign up are reportedly given a fee of £20,000, which increases depending on how long they are in the competition.
