Hamptons hotspot Surf Lodge back for the summer starting May 14

Hot vax summer is starting early.

Montauk hotspot Surf Lodge — which has seen performances by John Legend, Jimmy Buffet, and Wyclef Jean, among others — will be making a return this season, opening on May 14.

We’re told this summer will be a more “a grown-up version” of the party spot, owned by Jayma Cardoso, with “more of an intimate and calm vibe” than the usual packed venue of past summers.

The spot will be operating at a limited capacity and adhere to all safety requirements.

We’re told that the restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with socially distanced tables. Weekends will be reservation-only and there will be no standing room at the bar to provide, “the same ambiance The Surf Lodge has become synonymous with while ensuring the safety of its employees and guests.”

Musical acts, which have been a key attraction in past years, will return but have a more low-key vibe than usual with a focus on acoustic performances.

During Legend’s performance in 2019, a whopping 84 kayaks and paddleboats pulled up to the venue for his sold-out show, with one aggressive man in a boat attempting to climb the deck and breach the venue. (He didn’t succeed.)

We’re told management is also planning wellness activities. In past years, they have had cosmetics and wellness guru Bobbi Brown and spiritual teacher Biet Simkin, who once told us, “You can find enlightenment while shopping at Barneys. You can do it while you’re f - - king someone and the f - - king is good.”

VIPs spotted in recent years range from Malia Obama and Tiffany Trump to Kendall Jenner and Leonardo DiCaprio. Cuba Gooding Jr., Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Alexa Ray Joel and Christie Brinkley have also been spotted.

Last season, the spot opened in July, and rooms were reconfigured to rent for the month or season. Concerts were held digitally.
