How to find £1 bargains at shops like Amazon and Boots using an app

BARGAIN hunters can find £1 offers from shops including Amazon and Boots using a free deals app.

Savvy savers can use the trick to save cash at other high street retailers too, such as Duelm, Superdrug, Tesco and Asda.

LatestDeals.co.uk, the website behind the popular forum, has created the free app to help shoppers bag bargains.

When The Sun checked the app today, £1 deals include a 200ml bottle of Johnson's baby shampoo from Amazon and a 250ml bottle of Lynx shower gel from Boots.

Some bargains on the app cost less than £1.

For example, deal finders can pick up a bottle of Harpic Platinum Pro Shield Toilet Cleaner (750ml) for just 10p at Asda.

Meanwhile, a pack of black currant Jaffa Cakes will set you back just 50p from Tesco.

The deals listed on the app have been spotted by bargain hunters in the Latest Deals community, and includes information about when offers end and how to get the bargains.

Fellow shoppers can also rate the bargains and leave comments.

To find the £1 deals, you'll need to download the app to your smartphone or tablet, which is available for free on both Google Play and the App Store.

Once you've opened the app, you need to click on the "filter" section in the top right hand corner.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you – so don't be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

Next, click on price to set a maximum. If you choose £1 then you'll get all the deals that cost £1 or less.

This will bring up a whole range of offers from different retailers.

You can filter the results to only show you offers from one particular store by selecting one from the drop down menu in the filter section.

If you see a bargain that catches your eye, click "get deal" and you'll be taken to the shop's website so you can add it to your basket.

It's particularly useful for retailers such as Amazon where there is a minimum basket size before you can get free delivery.

You can scroll through the offers and find one that will top up your order as well as giving you a treat.

You can use the trick for deals of any maximum size at any retailer, just change your entry on the filters.

Of course, just because something is on offer doesn't mean it's a great deal, so it's always worth scouting around to see if you can find a better price else.
