I asked how to help my daughter after her miscarriage and you helped so much

DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN I wrote to you, I was worried about my daughter, who’d lost several babies to miscarriage.

She wanted so much to be a mum, but every time she got pregnant, tragedy would strike.

Although she was having counselling and had been told there was no medical reason for the miscarriages, she was terrified of it happening again.

At 30, pregnancy had become an ordeal, when starting a family should have been a happy time.

She couldn’t sleep and had bad dreams because her anxiety was so high.

I asked you how I, her 55-year-old mum, could support her.

You sent me your Miscarriage support pack. You also recommended the Miscarriage Association’s booklet (miscarriageassociation.org.uk). Both were so helpful.

My daughter got pregnant again and this time everything went well.

I was so grateful for your advice, I shared her scan photos.
