For their first meeting, First Lady Jill Biden and British royal Kate Middleton both seemed to think pink.
Ahead of the G7 summit on Friday, the FLOTUS, 70, and the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, toured the Connor Downs Academy together in Hayle, West Cornwall.
Middleton donned a belted magenta Alexander McQueen sheath, while Dr. Biden layered a hot pink L’Agence blazer ($625) over a white A-line dress by Akris ($2,990).
The duo even wore coordinating accessories for the occasion, with the Duchess opting for a nude L.K. Bennett purse ($370) and matching Rupert Sanderson pumps, while the First Lady chose Valentino slingback heels ($895) in the same hue.
The unlikely style twins beamed as they made conversation on their way into the school, and put on face masks before stepping into the classroom full of students and staff; the Duchess’ was her favorite floral version by Amaia.
“They’re scared to death,” Biden laughed as they walked into the silent room, with Middleton responding, “This is the quietest classroom I’ve ever been in!” The two then sat down to help teach a table full of pupils.
Biden, who has her doctorate in education, appeared especially excited to spend time with the young students.
The First Lady and Duchess later made their way back outside and took turns carrying a basket full of carrots to feed the school rabbit.
The First Lady and her husband, President Joe Biden, will continue their UK visit on Sunday at Windsor Palace, where they are meeting the Queen.
Middleton just completed a tour of Scotland with husband Prince William, during which her niece, Lilibet “Lili” Diana, was born.
During the school visit, Middleton also gave her well wishes to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new daughter: “I wish her all the very best. I can’t wait to meet her.”
