Kate Middleton Is 'Playing a Big Hand' in Reshaping the British Royal Family, Expert Says

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, just celebrated a decade of marriage to Prince William. The couple were college sweethearts and dated for nearly 10 years before tying the knot in 2011. The Cambridges have three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, together. They have also weathered several storms, including a cheating rumor and some tabloid drama.

Following Megxit and Prince Philip’s death, Kate has emerged as a force in the British royal family. Taking on more responsibilities and focusing on childhood and early childhood development, Kate has seamlessly found her footing in the royal fold.

Now, one royal expert has revealed that the duchess has a big hand in reshaping the royal family.

Kate Middleton has been able to adapt to the British royal family

Unlike Princess Diana or even Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Kate has been able to adjust and adapt to the rules and regulations of the British royal family. A lot of that stems from the fact that she was eased into her role. She wed the prince after almost 10 years of dating. In her early years as a duchess, she had a limited schedule.

Prince William, the future king, has also been careful and meticulous about showing his wife the ropes.

“I think William is enormously proud of how well Kate has adapted,” royal expert Katie Nicholl said on ITV’s Lorraine via Express. “But she did have the benefit of time and experience. He was a great mentor. I remember being told by a palace aide how Kate had gone into Buckingham Palace when the engagement was announced and said, ‘Right, what do I need to know.’ I think the other thing that William did which was very clever was introduced Kate to us to the press.”

Kate Middleton has a ‘ruthless survival streak,’ insider says

When it comes to thriving in the royal fold, Kate’s success also stems from her determination to master her role. Though they were a lot of naysays in the beginning, calling her “Waity Katie” for her long courtship with Prince William and later questions about her work ethic, Kate has proven everyone wrong.

“She is impenetrable,” Tatler Magazine reported. “There is nothing to like or dislike. She has a ruthless survival streak, just like the House of Windsor. It’s why she is so well suited. She keeps her head down because the prize of being queen is so great. She models herself on the Queen and now speaks like the Queen.”

Now it looks like Kate is ready to transform the monarchy.

With everything that has happened in the past couple of years in the British royal family, it appears that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles are leaning on Kate and Prince William more than ever.

“I’ll bet those courtiers who reputedly once sneered about ‘Waity Katy’ are the very ones bowing lowest now,” historian and author Sarah Gristwood told Vanity Fair. “She looks like the person who’s going to have to play a big hand in the ongoing remolding of the monarchy.”

It appears that the duchess understands the institution, and while change should happen, she’s willing to let it transform slowly.
