Martin Lewis explains how Brits can get £130 money fast with bank switches

When it comes to money, Martin Lewis certainly knows a thing or two about it.

The guru, who founded Money Saving Expert, often shares his tips on ITV's This Morning or even in his weekly newsletter.

Now in his latest email, the 49-year-old revealed how Brits can get free money from bank switches.

He said that seven banks are currently giving switches up to £100 or more, with Santander offering £130 cashback on bills.

Martin said: "Time for a bit of financial razzle-dazzle. The festive season has become the bank switching season.

"There are currently seven banks offering to pay you to move, with Halifax the latest to join the party.

"From our records, the last time there were more top bank accounts paying switch bonuses was in 2015."

Martin's best deal is from First Direct 1st Account who is offering £130 with a minimum pay-in of £1,000.

According to a recent MSE poll, 85% of readers rated its service as "great" so it's a top bank in Martin's eyes.

Alternatively, Santander 123 Lite is offering free £130 and cash back on bills with a minimum pay in of £500 a month.

It also works for joint bill accounts too, but you won't get the money until mid-January.

Nationwide FlexDirect was also rated quite highly as this offers £100 and a top pick for those with bigger overdrafts.

It gives a year's 2% in-credit interest on up to £1,500, plus many get a year's 0% overdraft.

Other banks offering money for switching are Halifax, NatWest Reward, RBS Reward and even Virgin Money M Plus.
