Archie Harrison Mounbatten-Windsor might not have a royal title, but that hasn’t stopped Meghan Markle giving him an adorable nickname.
The Duke of Sussex, 36, and Duchess of Sussex, 39, have a very special name they calls their son behind closed doors and it has charmed fans.
The affectionate name for the seventh in line to the throne was heard during Prince Harry and Meghan’s last royal tour of Africa in 2019.
One of their engagements was meeting Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu and his family.
As Archie was introduced to Desmond’s daughter Thandeka Tutu Gxashe his Mum was heard lovingly referring to him as ‘Bubba’.
As they greeted Thandeka, Meghan could be heard encouraging her son to smile, saying: "Say hello, hello, hi. Oh Bubba!"
It was during this tour that Meghan gave an interview with ITV's Tom Bradbury when she first revealed that she was “not OK” when he asked how she was.
This week marked Archie's second birthday and his parents have asked royal well-wishers to mark their son’s milestone birthday by donating to a vaccine equity campaign.
On their Archewell Foundation site, the couple, who are expecting their second child, wrote: “We cannot think of a more resonant way to honor our son’s birthday.
"If we all show up, with compassion for those we both know and don’t know, we can have a profound impact. Even a small contribution can have a ripple effect."
The adorable photograph shows Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor walking across the sprawling garden, thought to be at the couple's £11million home in Montecito, California, wearing jeans and a sweatshirt.
Archie is seen holding the string attached to a bunch of balloons while he looks up at the sky with his back to the lens.
It comes after Prince Charles marked his grandson Archie Mountbatten-Windsor's second birthday with a heartfelt birthday tribute on Instagram.
In a poignant throwback image shared by Clarence House on Thursday, Prince Charles is seen looking affectionately at the youngster while he's cradled by his father Prince Harry.
"Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today,' the caption reads.
The caption – a joint tribute with Charles' wife, the Duchess of Cornwall – also features a birthday cake emoji.
While Archie is now two, the Prince of Wales, 72, hasn't seen him in person for more than a year.
This week Meghan divided opinion yet again with a newly released children’s book The Bench which aims to unpack and analyse the bond between father and son.
While many, like Good Morning Britain anchor Adil Ray, were impressed with the publication, others were more cynical.
Former GMB host Piers Morgan was quick to dismiss the book's publication, calling it 'staggering hypocrisy' considering the author's relationship with her own father, Thomas Markle.
