A ‘scarily accurate’ optical illusion shared on TikTok can suggest how skeptical or kind-hearted you are according to what you first see.
Mia – known as mia_yilin on the social app – posted a video demonstrating what personality traits you could possess by first spotting either of the two possible images behind the illusion.
The content creator regularly posts optical illusions on her account, alongside an in-depth analysis of each one, for her 450,000 followers to work out.
Users around the world took to the comments below the video – which has received more than 2,500 likes and 30,000 views – to express what they felt they saw.
The fun “personality test” consists of a black and yellow image of what either appears to be a silhouette of a slouching woman or a distorted close-up of a man’s face.

In the footage – captioned ‘What do you see first? – Mia says to those who could spot a woman: ‘If the first thing you saw was the slouching woman, then you are a person of the highest morals.
‘Not only are you kind and forgiving, but you’re also generous. You are admired for your positivity and do things with efficiency.
‘You’re great at picking up on social cues and can be easily influenced by other people’s negative behaviour.’
Mia then explained the alternative sighting of a man: ‘If you first saw the man’s face – then you, my friend, are a very secretive person.
‘In fact, you often feel that no-one understands the REAL you. You like looking at things analytically and logically, and don’t want to be a people pleaser.
‘Instead, you like to carve your own path and make decisions for yourself.
‘With that being said – what you wish for the most is reassurance that you are loved by others.’
Users could not agree more with Mia’s theories – with the majority claiming to have seen a man’s face before anything else.
Mia explains to those who could possibly make out seeing a woman first: ‘If the first thing you saw was the slouching woman, then you are a person of the highest morals’
One user confirmed, ‘Well I saw a man’s face and it’s scary accurate,’ while another wrote, ‘I saw a man’s face.’
A bemused commenter said, ‘A grumpy face,’ as another claimed, ‘I see a funny face, where is the woman?’
However, some people could only make out a the female silhouette. One person said, ‘I saw the woman first,’ while another agreed, saying, ‘Woman it’s true.’
One perplexed person, trying to distinguish either of the possibilities, claimed: ‘2 people hugging. Than a man’s face.’
A final user felt a similar sentiment, writing: ‘Am I the only one that didn’t have a clue what I was looking at?’

As the comments reveal, Mia’s optical illusion videos can be open to interpretation, as each individual may only see what is personal to them.
Pair that with the fact that hundreds, if not, thousands, of various personality traits can exist among the general population.
Northwestern University scientists, however, determined four entirely-new personality types that everyone falls into based on a study of 1.5 million people worldwide in 2018.
Their research uncovered that respondents were either average, reserved, self-centred or role models.
The latest findings challenge existing ideas in psychology, according to the research team behind the study.
These characterise people by their openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.
