Zara Tindall is the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. However, the royal has had a fairly private life thanks to a decision made by Princess Anne.
Zara and her brother Peter were not automatically given royal titles when they were born.
While Princess Anne was said to have been offered titles for her children by the Queen, it is thought she refused.
Without royal titles, Zara and Peter have enjoyed their own careers away from royal duty.
This may mean Zara is not seen with Princess Anne as much as other royals are in public.
However, they are still thought to have a very close mother-daughter relationship.
Both royals live on the grounds of Gatcombe Park.
They royal women also have a shared interest in horse-riding and have both competed in the Olympics.
It is through their love of the races that Princess Anne and Zara are most often seen together.
During such outings, Darren Stanton suggested they have given a glimpse into the relationship.
While he claimed they are clearly close, he outlined some signs of distance in their body language.
He claimed: “In one really interesting picture Princess Anne is not making eye contact with Zara.
“Her position is very rigid and stoic. I do not feel there is a great deal of rapport happening here.
“If you look at Princess Anne and Zara’s feet positions, it is quite telling.
“It shows that Anne wants to disengage and go in the other direction.”
The expert suggested there was a desire to “disengage” but stated this was not a sign of their relationship with each other.
Instead, Darren claimed they did so due to the public nature of their interactions.
The expert added: “Princess Anne may be aware that the press are watching and therefore very cautious of the gestures and behaviour she gives off.”
Other moments together show the royals’ “genuine” happiness.
“The emotion that the human face demonstrates most of all is a smile,” Darren claimed.
“We smile from when we are anxious to when we are embarrassed.
“But in this picture, the whole face is engaged and clearly the two are enjoying the moment.”
