FITNESS maniac Mark Wahlberg has revelaed how he stays in such amazing shape – and it involved getting up at 1am.

The actor, possibly more famous for his famous abs, endures a punishing work-out regine every day in roder to stay in shape.

Mark, 47, revealed that in order to get all his work and exercise done, and if wants to spend time with his wife and children, he needs to rise mega early.

He shared a snap of his daily schedule with fans on Instagram after they asked how he found the time to stay so ripped.

A typical day for the Boogie Nights star is getting up at 2.30am, praying then having breakfast of avocado, egg whites and fibre-rich bread.

Then he hits the gym hard before squeezing in some golf – all before 8am

Mark, a devout Catholic, then goes into a cryo chamber for an hour of recovery.

The afternoon is then spent emailing and working before picking up his children from school.

He has another snack at 3.30pm before his second work out of the day.

This is followed by a shower, dinner before hitting the sack at 7.30pm.

Mark, who is married to model Rhea Durham, shot to fame in the Nineties with his band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.

He was a teen idol and worked on many ad campaigns or "ab-verts" showing off his toned stomach.

Mark has been sober since he was 40 and is now extremely clean-living and disciplined.

He previously told Men's Fitness: "There’s no way I’m going out, eating dinner, drinking wine.

"I literally go home and go to bed. If I finish work at 8pm, I try to be in bed by 9pm.

"You gotta put the work in. Then you gotta get the rest and recovery."

Mark was the youngest of nine children and grew up poor in Boston.

As a youth he got into trouble with the police and even had a stint in prison.

But now he says he wants to set a gooid example to his kids.

Mark, dad to Ella Rae, 15, Grace Margaret, eight, Brendan, nine, and Michael, 11, said: “I grew up with nothing.

"In America, in one generation you can turn that around.

"But our biggest worry is that we raise these spoiled, privileged kids.

"My son has a dirt bike; I never had a dirt bike.

"My son goes to private school; I always wanted to go to private school. It just wasn’t in the cards."
