    Kud be the one

Arsenal are reportedly planning another transfer raid for a £40million Ajax star – but they must sell first with SEVEN players facing the axe.

Arsenal have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, sealing the £105m arrival of midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham.

He became their third new arrival after the £40m capture of defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax and the £65m signing of attacker Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

Now the Daily Mail are claiming that he is interested in Ajax’s £40m-rated Mohammed Kudus.

The 22-year-old Ghana international , who also has Brighton keen on signing him, is comfortable as a conventional central midfielder, playing more advanced or even on the right wing and his versatility has made him an attractive option to the club’s recruitment staff.

However, their report adds that Arsenal are “focusing on trimming Arteta’s squad before adding to their £200m recruitment spree”.

    Gift of the Gab

Pictures released on social media showed Gabriel facing another coach as players Rob Holding, Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Eddie Nketiah were crouched down into some coloured cones as part of their training.

Gabriel is the eldest of Arteta’s three sons and has two younger called Daniel and Oliver.

Meanwhile, despite his big outlay already, Arsenal insisted on Monday that more new arrivals could be coming through the door.

He said: “Let's see (about more signings), there's still a lot of time left in the market.

“There's a lot of expectations in some of our players, so we will have to see how things develop in the next couple of weeks.

“We will be alert, there's still time to do things and there's still time for exits obviously.”

    He Art to be good

Mikel Arteta’s 14-year-old son has been spotted training with the club’s first-team while on tour of America.

Fans were shocked to see another new face training alongside their heroes in the States yesterday – although it is one that Arteta knows well.

His teenage boy, Gabriel, was seen taking part in an open training session at the George Mason University in Washington DC.

He was kitted out in a full Gunners kit that his GA initials emblazoned on the red top and a pair of grey Adidas shorts.

It was a training shirt that is also used by other coaching, and according to the Daily Mail, he did not get too involved in the session.

    Balogun price tag

Arsenal have placed a £50m price tag on the head of striker Folarin Balogun.

But the Gunners are ready to sell the former England under-21 man despite his goal exploits in France.

Inter Milan are the likely suitors after pulling out of the race for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Brooklyn-born Balogun, who scored 22 goals on loan at Ligue 1 Reims last season, swapped nationalities to declare for the country of his birth and made his USA debut last month.

Martin admits extra pressure on Gunners after spree

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard admits the £200million spree on Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber has piled on the pressure.

The midfielder said: “With the signings we’ve made coming on top of what we did last year, expectations are naturally going to go up.

“We have to be ready for that extra pressure and deal with it and that’s what we’re going to do.

“I think we’ve made some great signings, great characters who bring good quality and good energy, so it’s important to make sure they settle in as quickly as possible.

“Every time I’ve played against Declan Rice I’ve seen his quality. We had some tough battles so I’m happy to have him on my side and hopefully we can find a good connection very quickly.

“He’s a leader as well so it’s great for me to work together and hopefully we can help each other a lot.”

Odegaard also revealed that he has recovered from the kick on the calf which ruled him out of last week’s opening pre-season friendly against Nuremberg and expects to be involved in tonight’s game against Wayne Rooney’s MLS All Stars.

Odegaard uses title pain as inspiration

Martin Odegaard is still hurting over Arsenal’s late title collapse and insists the team has to use that pain to topple Manchester City from their Premier League throne.

Mikel Arteta’s team were eight points clear of the pack at one point last season and led the table for 248 days but fell away in the run-in and had to settle for second place.

And the 24-year-old club captain admits: “We have to learn from last time and use the anger, the disappointment and the bad feelings to come back even stronger

“This time last year I don’t think there were too many people who believed that we were going to be fighting for the title but we were so close and it’s still painful for us.

“We had this big dream to win something special and it’s important to come back even stronger, hungrier and more motivated.

“That's what we did last year after we missed Champions League qualification the season before. We’re trying to do the same again.”

Liverpool should nip in for Moises

Liverpool have been told to replace outgoing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson with reported Arsenal and Chelsea target Moises Caicedo.

Manchester United have also been mentioned in connection with Caicedo – but Chelsea are favourites to sign Brighton's Ecuador midfielder.

However, ex-Liverpool midfielder Did Hamann explained on Lord Ping why he believes the 21-yer-old would be ideal for his old club.

Liverpool need another midfielder if Jordan Henderson and Fabinho do decide to leave for what they're being offered in Saudi Arabia.

Moises Caicedo is a brilliant player, he fits the profile of a 'ball-winner', what Fabinho has been doing for Liverpool for years.

If there is an opportunity to hijack the deal from Chelsea, then I think Liverpool should go for Caicedo.

He would be another great signing for Liverpool's midfield, alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister."

Arsenal boss Mikrl Arteta has called £105million new boy Declan Rice his ‘lighthouse’.

The Spaniard, asked about his new £105m recruit’s qualities, told their official website: “His leadership, his aura, obviously the experience he already has in this league. He’s going to bring the team to a different dimension.

“He’s got the physical qualities that we’ve been missing for a while, that’s why we had to do what we had to do to get him, because he’s really important for us.

“A while ago we spoke about players that could complement each other, give us more flexibility, more depth and more quality, and take a winning hunger into the team with players who really want to push themselves to a different level.

“I see him like a lighthouse, he will light (up) the others and improve the others, and make the team better. The way he talks, the ambition he has and the passion for the game is exactly what we need.”

    Toon urged to sign Tierney

Newcastle have been urged to rescue Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann believes the Scotland star is "too good" to be a back-up player.

The German revealed his thinking to Lord Ping.

Newcastle need more players in their squad because they're in the Champions League now. Kieran Tierney is a very reliable player who performs well every time he makes an appearance for Arsenal.

Obviously, those chances have been limited now, so I think he'd be a very good player at Newcastle. He's too good to be a squad player and needs to be starting, which he can do at Newcastle this season coming.

And ex-Chelsea midfielder Petit told DAZN Bet: “He’s done very well here in France and I know he could be an option.

“But I have been saying for months that the best thing for all parties would be a clean break.

“Arsenal have just signed a new long-term contract with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus fits so well into how Mikel Arteta wants to play, so they need to buy one more striker or someone who can offer versatility in a wide role as well.
