England team vs Germany picked by the fans, as Sun readers choose between Mount or Foden, Kane or Rashford

SUNSPORT readers have delivered their verdict on who should start tonight's huge Euros showdown with Germany.

England take on Die Mannschaft at Wembley in a 5pm kick-off, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

We asked our readers to pick the stars who will line up alongside shoo-ins Raheem Sterling, Declan Rice and Jordan Pickford.

John Stones and Harry Maguire were your picks in the centre of defence, taking almost 70 per cent of the vote ahead of Tyrone Mings.

Luke Shaw and Kyle Walker both claimed over half of all votes up against their rivals at full-back.

Fans preferred Kieran Trippier as the back-up right-back to Reece James, while Ben Chilwell edged the versatile defender on the opposite flank.

It was a tight race to line up alongside Declan Rice in midfield, however.

Despite Kalvin Phillips starting all three games so far, Jordan Henderson came within a few hundred votes of earning your call on Tuesday night.

Jude Bellingham was not far behind as faith in Leeds ace Phillips waned despite his strong display in the opener versus Croatia.

The midfield creator's spot could be sacrificed if Gareth Southgate opts for a five-man defence, to match up against Joachim Low's side.

When asked who should start out of Jack Grealish and Mason Mount, SunSport readers backed the Aston Villa playmaker three to one.

On the right wing, you preferred Bukayo Saka ahead of Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho.

The Arsenal winger took half of the votes in this position, with his team-mates evenly splitting the remaining ballots.

And with Harry Kane strongly backed over Marcus Rashford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in attack, it meant the same starting XI that faced Czech Republic has been backed again by the England faithful.

Southgate will reveal his hand just before 4pm with late calls likely to be made on Mount and Chilwell following their coronavirus self-isolation.
