    NEVILLE ADVICE

Manchester United legend Gary Neville insists his former club needs a new centre-back and either a striker or a right winger.

Neville said: "They definitely need a centre-back to go with Harry Maguire. Although I think the back four has done well, I think the defence has done well but they’re at an absolute maximum where they are.

"I think Aaron Wan-Bissaka is improving weekly and is getting better. I think if Luke Shaw can stay fit he’s the best and always has been in terms of talent.

"With Harry Maguire they’ve got someone who is incredibly reliable and can lead the team, I just think that another centre-back comes in and completes that back four.

"Up front is an issue. Over the last few years, we’ve never had a fixed right-winger, I think left’s okay with Marcus Rashford. You could argue is Mason Greenwood a right-winger?

"That’s the question is he a right winger or is he a centre forward? If he’s a centre-forward in the long term, Manchester United need a right-winger. If Mason Greenwood is a right-winger, they need a centre-forward."

    SUPER IDOL

Brighton star Ben White admits he looks up to Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, amid reports suggesting he is being targeted by the Red Devils.

White said during England's media day: "I think it is a little bit of everyone, trying to pick little bits out of each defender.

"Obviously watching the Premier League every week you can see the different types of players and pick different things out of each player.

"Rio Ferdinand, that was the one for me"

Dalot joined United from Porto in 2018 and has since amassed a mere 35 appearances

    SANCHO REACTS

Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho claims he doesn't pay attention to transfer rumours amid reports suggesting Manchester United are trying to sign him.

Sancho told talkSPORT: “I don’t really look at it [the speculation]. During the season, I always focus on myself & the team.

"That’s the most important thing we can do and every time I’m on the pitch I always give it my all, obviously trying to create what I do on the pitch and that’s with goals and assists. That’s what I really try to do, work hard for the team.

"[The noise] is part of the game. Fans are always going to be excited for major tournaments, so that’s normal. As a young kid growing up and watching these major tournaments, I was excited as well.

"All the lads should be excited, these tournaments don’t come around often, so you have to take your moment and when you do get your opportunity on the pitch, you have to take it"

    SANCHO BID REJECTED

Manchester United have had a £67million bid for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho rejected.

According to BBC Sport, Dortmund are demanding £77.5m for Sancho with an additional £4.25m bonus payment on top.

United also wanted to pay it over five years whereas the Bundesliga giants are only open to extending it to four.

The Red Devils are now considering whether to come back with a revised offer.

    GREAT SCOTT

Manchester City hero Joleon Lescott believes Manchester United ace Harry Maguire is very important for England as "the gap between his level and the other defenders is quite a lot".

Lescott told 101 Great Goals: "I think he is really important to be fair.

"I think the gap between his level and the other defenders is quite a lot. In terms of consistency, he’s up there with anyone in the league.

"He has an air of confidence that you should have when you play for a top team. He will also have a good partnership with Luke Shaw"

    SANCHO ALTERNATIVES

Manchester United have three alternative options in case they miss out on Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

That is according to the Daily Express, who claim that United are keeping tabs on Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele.

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has also been touted as a potential plan B.

The Red Devils are also considering a bid for club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, the same report suggests

    MAGUIRE BOOST

Manchester United star Harry Maguire has returned to England training on the eve of Euro 2020 and has given the Three Lions a major boost before their tournament opener.

Maguire joined up with the rest of the team for practice as he continues his recovery from an ankle ligament injury.

The centre-back missed United's Europa League Final against Villarreal, who won on penalties, due to his ongoing issue.

However, the 28-year-old has handed Southgate a significant injury boost ahead of Sunday's opener with Croatia

    POGBA ON HIS FUTURE

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has confirmed he has had no contact with Paris Saint-Germain amid rumours he is being targeted by the French giants.

Pogba told RMC Sport: “I have a year left on the contract, everyone knows that.

    VARANE BOOST

Real Madrid ace, and Manchester United transfer target, Raphael Varane's asking price has been dropped.

That is according to Mundo Dportivo, who claim that a bid of €50million (£43m) would be enough to land Varane.

That would cut down the defender's release clause by about £20m, which is a huge boost for United who are looking for the perfect man to partner up with Harry Maguire at centre-back.

Los Blancos are reportedly keen to cash in on the France international if he doesn't agree on a new deal as his contract expires next year

    NOT MESS-ING AROUND

David Beckham’s MLS team Inter Miami are very confident about landing Barcelona hero Lionel Messi in the summer.

SunSport understands Manchester United legend Beckham’s team can seriously see Messi coming to south Florida in two years time after talks with the Barca superstar.

The Argentina international is set to sign a new 10-year multi-role deal at the Nou Camp and will stay in LaLiga for two more years before moving to the US.

With Miami an attractive proposition, the 33 year-old fancies seeing out the rest of his playing days in the States before returning to Barcelona to take on an ambassadorial role

    SANCHO UPDATE

Manchester United continue negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Jadon Sancho.

That is according to Sky Sports, who claim there is still a gap in valuation but talks are said to be going "the right direction" with all parties more optimistic of getting a deal done this summer, compared to last year.

It is thought the release clause will be significantly less than the £108million Dortmund wanted last summer – largely because of the economic effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the fact Sancho is entering the final two years of his contract.

Personal terms not expected to be an issue after they were finalised when United tried to sign the England international last summer.

    TOP POG

Manchester United have opened talks with Paul Pogba's representatives over a new contract.

According to Sky Sports, United are keen on holding on to Pogba with a fresh deal.

The star midfielder's contract with the Red Devils expires next year in June and thus he will be allowed to negotiate with clubs outside the Premier League from January.

The France international is currently gearing up for Euro 2020

ICYMI – UNITED ‘AGREE’ SANCHO DEAL

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Jadon Sancho, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

He is believed to have agreed a FIVE-YEAR contract at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils now need to negotiate a fee with Sancho’s current side Borussia Dortmund.

The German team reportedly want €95million for the England star – around £82m.

Reports suggest United have made an initial offer of £59m, which is believed to have been rejected.

    DIO-GO

AC Milan want to take Diogo Dalot on loan for another season, according to reports.

The proposed deal will reportedly include an option to buy the player for €18million – around £15.5m.

But Manchester United are said to want the deal to include an obligation to buy and not just an option.

Dalot made 21 Serie A appearances for Milan last term, ending the season strongly.

    RON WAY ROUND

Cristiano Ronaldo was mocked for the ‘worst free-kick’ of his entire career during Portugal’s friendly with Israel.

The Juventus superstar was renowned for his set-piece taking, especially earlier in his career with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

But he woefully dropped his standards in Portugal’s final game before the delayed European Championships.

The legendary forward, 36, completed his iconic run up to the ball but riffled one right into the empty stands.

Ronaldo was ruthlessly slammed by fans online, who called for him to stop taking free-kicks all together.

    MAG RACE

England were boosted by the return of Harry Maguire in training today ahead of their Euros bid.

And Jordan Henderson was also seen sprinting at the Three Lions base in a major boost for boss Gareth Southgate.

The Man Utd centre-back and Liverpool midfielder both had injury doubts hanging over them heading into the tournament.

It's too early to tell whether either man could feature in Sunday's opener against Croatia at Wembley.

But seeing two senior men and leaders back among the rest of the group is a shot in the arm for Southgate.

England face Scotland next Friday at Wembley before taking on Czech Republic in their final group game on June 22.

    BIG MESS

Gary Neville has slammed the Premier League's punishment of the Big Six clubs who attempted to join the European Super League.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and the two Manchester giants have each been given fines of just over £3.6million, which they have accepted.

They have also agreed to punishments of a 30-point deduction and £25m fine if they attempt another plot similar to the breakaway plan in April.
