Premier League sack race – Odds slashed on Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with two games to save job

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is favourite to be the third managerial casualty of the season.

That's according to bookmakers Sky Bet, who've heavily slashed Solskjaer's odds after Steve Bruce was relieved of his duties at Newcastle.

Bruce, 60, became the second Premier League manager of the campaign to be given his marching orders after Watford's Xisco Munoz.

And the Norwegian could be follow in their footsteps with his price dropping from 7/1 to 6/4.

Solskjaer's position at Old Trafford is looking increasingly uncertain after a series of disappointing results.

The Red Devils are winless in their last three Premier League outings with the latest a 4-2 defeat to Leicester.

The result leaves United in sixth position – five points behind league leaders Chelsea.

And having been bankrolled with £126million on new recruits over the summer – patience is wearing thin.

SunSport understand that some of United's players believe Solskjaer's future hinges on the next two games.

United take on Atalanta in the Champions League tonight before a grudge-match against rivals Liverpool.

A source told SunSport: "Some of the players think Solskjaer has two games and that if United don’t win these two games, he could leave.

"They’re such important matches for the club in the Champions League and Premier League.

"It is a bad situation at the moment. It’s hard to see a big future for Solskjaer if United don’t win these games."

New Watford boss Claudio Ranieri is next in the betting at 5/1 to be axed by the trigger-happy club.

Norwich's Daniel Farke is available at 6/1 with Nuno Espirito Santo and Ralph Hasenhuttl following at 11/1 and 12/1 respectively.
