PSG in double blow with Lionel Messi AND Kylian Mbappe missing training just days ahead of Lille and RB Leipzig clashes

LIONEL MESSI and Kylian Mbappe have rocked PSG by missing training.

The star men are doubtful for Friday night's home Ligue 1 clash with Lille, ahead of Wednesday's Champions League trip to RB Leipzig.

Messi's absence on Thursday has yet to be explained but strikepartner Mbappe reportedly has an ear, nose and throat infection.

The leaders will already be without injured trio Marco Verratti, Sergio Ramos and Leandro Paredes against mid-table Lille.

French publication  L'Equipe suggest Mbappe is 'uncertain' to play while Messi's situation remains a mystery.

PSG are seven points clear in Ligue 1 after 11 matches and top Champions League Group A, one point above Manchester City.

Six-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi, 34, has endured a mixed start to life away from his only previous club Barcelona.

The Argentina superstar has failed to net in four Ligue 1 games but has notched three goals in Europe.

In contrast, 22-year-old Mbappe is tipped to join Real Madrid next summer.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes former Barcelona team-mate Messi has become 'isolated' out on the right.

Henry told RMC Sport: “Something needs to be found in order to get Mbappe, Neymar and Messi to play together.

"He [Messi] is isolated, he is on the ball less.

“I wouldn't say he's sad, but he's isolated. I prefer him through the middle.

“I'm having trouble with Leo out on the right. In the middle, he can set the tempo.

“For now, it's Kylian's team. Kylian is the one who's making it shine most of all. The ball goes more towards him.

“At any single moment there can only be one conductor, otherwise you can't play at the same tempo. And in this team, there are too many conductors.”
