An after school club run by the Satanic Temple is due to be hit by protests when it launches in the US in the new year.
After School Satan Club has announced it will launch at an elementary school in Tennessee but has been met with disapproval from community members who fear it could harm children.
Protests are planned at Chimneyrock Elementary School, where the club will start in January, by The Uvalde Foundation for Kids.

In a statement, the foundation said: “We are concerned that the presence of this club threatens to create ongoing conflict between community members; including other groups; which we fear could spill over and disrupt students; potentially placing them in harm.”
The Foundation says it will protest on January 3 and January 10 before the club launches, with reports people from Texas and California will attend.
Speaking to WVLT8, concerned local Joevelyn Eubank said: “That’s not a necessity at the school for a Satan Club, why should they be worried about that, when they should be worried about their education.”
The After School Satan Club has already made headlines earlier this year after several were hosted across the UK.

She said: “"We do not teach about Satan. We do not teach them songs to sing to their friends. There’s no proselytising that takes place at all with our club.”
According to its website, The Satanic Temple doesn't believe in introducing religion into public schools and will only open their Satan after-school clubs in schools where other religious groups are already operating so they can provide an alternative.
