A new football team revealed a little more than your standard kit after debuting completely naked in front of a crowd in Germany.

The Nacktionalmannschaft, whose name is made from a pun of the German word for ‘nude’ and ‘national team’, got their kit off at the in Duisburg to take on a fully kitted out team.

Wearing just boots and songs with numbers painted on their backs, the nude team of both males and females were certainly not holding back – despite little protection.

Being cheered on by a crowd of 300 people, the Nacktionalmannschaft were flying into tackles, bravely standing in the wall and taking on some meaty challenges.

The team managed to put on a goal fest in their debut as they drew 8-8 in a thrillingly competitive game with local team Pottoriginale All Stars.

The game was organised by artist and filmmaker Gerrit Starczewski, who on Instagram called the spectacle “a furious display of artistry for connoisseurs.”

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "A game such as there has never been before in the vastness of the football planet – a team in jerseys against a nude 11.”

Starczewski has previously helped field a naked football team in the past in a protest against the increasing commercialisation of professional football.

In this particular protest, the team had ‘Boycott Qatar 22’ on their backs as Starczewski’s campaigning looked to persuade the German national side to pull out of the 2022 World Cup.

The recent game between Nacktionalmannschaft and Pottoriginale All Stars sees proceeds raised going towards Starczweski’s defence against a lawsuit.

Starczweski is currently being sued by an amateur footballer, whose surname is Ficken, which in English means F***.

He is currently suing the artist and filmmaker over an alleged violation of privacy after his ID card was displayed in a 2017 documentary.
