Bloke earns more than £200,000 while playing games from comfort of bedroom

A dad-of-one has revealed he earned an eye-watering £200,000 just to play video games from the comfort of his own home.

At just 26, Liam James, from Liverpool, makes more than most of us could ever dream of thanks to his gaming skills, after rising to Esports fame in 2019 by competing in a Call of Duty Battle Royal competition.

In fact, he’s recently found himself among the top 20 highest-paid Call of Duty: Warzone players, coming in at number ten on the list.

A string of impressive wins has led to a series of sponsorship deals from the likes of RedBull and BoohooMAN.

On top of these, just 10 days ago, the gamer announced that he’d already won $150,000 (£114,000) in a tournament.

Previously he also bagged £12,700 after winning the World Series Of Warzone EU Trios back in 2021, and won a whopping £25,000 last year for a day-long tournament.

He’s now hoping to win another £400,000 in an upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone tournament,LadBible reports.

Held over the next three months and finishing on September 16, the gruelling competition will have 50 teams fight in the final battle for the grand prize.

But while the young gamer seems to be living a life few of us can dream, he admitted that going into esports isn’t always easy.

In a touching tweet, James shared photos of his young son and told his mass of followers that the “hardest thing” was being away as a dad.

Despite this, the gamer and streamer has thrown himself into the industry and was recently greeted by fans at the Dubai Esports and Games Festival, gushing about the experience online.

Sharing photos from the event, he signed t-shirts for young gamers – many of whom had been excited to meet the 26-year-old in real life.

With esports set to grow in the future, James’s audience has also increased with him gaining over 34,000 subscribers on YouTube and another 219,000 on Twitch.
