Boy, 15, stabbed to death in fight while on his way to school

A 15-year-old schoolboy has been fatally stabbed after a fight on his way to school.

Emergency services treated the victim on Blyth Road in Hayes, west London, after being called to the scene at 8.34am this morning, June 11.

However, the child was tragically pronounced dead after suffering multiple stab wounds.

It came after reports of a fight when many children were on their way to school, MyLondon reports.

One eyewitness said students of nearby Global Academy were "running about" after the fatal attack took place.

The university technical college takes in Year 10-13 pupils.

A suspect has since been detained by the Metropolitan Police.

The force confirmed in a statement: "A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification has not taken place.

"A crime scene has been established and cordons remain in place at this time.

"Police have detained a suspect – no further details at this time.

"Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information is asked to call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference Cad 1681/11Jun.

"To remain 100% anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

In footage from the scene, at least three police cars and one ambulance are stationed on the road.

The London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance workers were dispatched, but their efforts were sadly in vain.
