A boy stabbed to death after having a car driven at him has been pictured by police.

Paramedics were unable to save 16-year-old Drekwon Patterson, who survived being rammed by a black Ford Mondeo before his four attackers chased him down on foot.

Emergency services responded to the attack at Preston Road in Wembley, north London on Thursday night at around 11.30pm.

Drekwon died in hospital shortly before 9am on Friday.

Metropolitan Police said the victim was from the Wembley area and his next of kin have been informed, the Evening Standard reports.

A post-mortem examination is yet to take place.

Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime are investigating the fatal assault by hunting clues near Preston Road tube station where the teenager was found by police on Thursday.

Officers want information from the public about a black Ford Mondeo which was spotted driving from away the scene only to be later burnt out.

No arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, from the Metropolitan Police, appealed for information about the black Ford Mondeo.

He said: "In particular, I need to find out more information about a car – a black Ford Mondeo, using registration number YR54 NHN – which was seen on CCTV driving away from the scene and found burnt out in Silver Jubilee Park, NW9 on Friday 19 February.

"I believe this car was used in an initial attempt to injure Drekwon in a collision on Preston Road.

"After the Mondeo had been driven at him, Drekwon ran away and was chased by four suspects who had got out of the car, before being caught and fatally stabbed."

He said the car is a "key line of inquiry" and described it as "a fairly large vehicle and quite old, so it would have been noticed".
