A section of Interstate 70 is closed due to an investigation of a police shooting that left a person in critical condition, according to tweets from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
All I-70 eastbound lanes at Airpark Road near Watkins are closed while the Adams County Critical Incident Response Team conducts its investigation of a shooting that occurred overnight.
According to a 5:21 a.m. update, a “suspect is in critical but stable condition at an area hospital.”
Those traveling east are being told to “plan an alternate route.”
