Part of a plane caught "on fire" at a UK airport this afternoon (July 4), passengers onboard have reported.
Crews rushed to Birmingham Airport following the reports, with one customer on the plane from Dubai reporting it was "surrounded by fire engines" as they landed on the tarmac.
Another passenger on the Emirates A380 aircraft took a snap as the plane waited on the runway.

Sharing a picture from inside the plane, one social media user said: "Amazing how this is happening, landing gear on fire. Surrounded by fire engines, flight from Dubai.
"Flight from Dubai landed with fire on landing gear plane being towed."
A spokesperson for Birmingham Airport told BirminghamLive the problem stemmed from an issue with the brakes on the plane, adding that everyone onboard is safe following the encounter.
They said: "There was a problem with the brakes on the A380. It looks dramatic but passengers on board were safe at all times albeit inconvenienced. It's now moved."

The spokesperson also said delays would only affect people on the plane involved, and that service should run as normal for other passengers at the West Midlands airport.
It is unclear how many passengers were on the plane when the incident occurred, but reports have suggested they may still be onboard.
The A380, Emirates' flagship jet, only resumed service at Solihull-based BHX on July 1 after its flights to Birmingham were scrapped during the pandemic.
The plane is one of the longest-range aircrafts in the world and boats a wingspan is nearly 80 metres – almost 30 metres longer than an Olympic swimming pool.
Emirates first launched its service to Birmingham in 2016, followed by Nice in 2017 and Glasgow in 2019.
The airline is the largest operator of the Airbus A380, with more than 80 planes in active service across more than 40 destinations worldwide.
The Daily Star has contacted Birmingham Airport, West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) and Emirates for more information.
